Patchwork This and That - Part 2

Good Morning Crafties!
Mama LoveBug here to continue one of my favorite techniques -
making patchwork paper designs

In my previous post Patchwork Part 1 I used a SU top note die; for this one I'll share a Sizzix fan die and a Sizzix bow.

Let me start with the finished project using LBC Simply Sheer Ribbon from our online store HERE:

Just as I created the card from the last post - I used Kathy Davis paper cut at 5 1/2 x 7 with a band across the top onto which I stamped the sentiment.  Then I created a patchwork fan using the Sizzix fan.

For purposes of demonstration, I am showing a similar fan to the one I made for this card - this one used blues and purples.  I punched out 12 squares of KD paper and layered them onto a piece of Kraft paper, ran it through my Big Kick with the Sizzix fan die and created this.

Next I used a Sherri Baldy Bestie for my image, and finished her off with a LoveBug Creations Simple Sheer bow, slipped the fan under the top of the card's band, and was good to go for another b-day card.

I really love the LBC Simply Sheer Ribbon for that just right touch of elegance!!  Lastly, here's a pic of sample patchwork creations - the bow, the fan, and the top note.

Remember, no matter how you rumple your ribbon and piece your paper,
have fun with it..........cyberhugs...........Mama LoveBug.

Patchwork This and That - Part 1

Good Morning, Crafties.
Mama Lovebug here to share a favorite technique - making patchwork paper designs.

I'll start with a finished product and explain how I created this using Mama's Mesh today from our online store HERE:

For the card base I used Kathy Davis paper (my fav) - love all the colors but for this one I used blue - it's cut at 5 1/2 by 7 - a small strip was used as a band for the top with a stamped sentiment.

Now for the patchwork - I used a SU square punch but you can use any shape you want - I punched out about 12 squares and layered them onto a piece of Kraft paper.  Then I ran the paper through my Big Kick with SU top note die and here's what that looked like.

I colored a sweet digi vintage girl Tiddly Inks image and added some LoveBug Creations Mama's Mesh across the top note patchwork for texture and fun, adhered my vintage gal with pop dots, slipped the top note under the band, and the card was finished - ready to send to a birthday gal!

As the post implies, there is a Part 2 - so join me tomorrow for that.........

Remember, no matter how you rumple your ribbon and piece your paper,
have fun with it...........cyberhugs.......Mama LoveBug

May Your Glass Always Be Half Full!

Good Morning, Crafties!
It's Mama LoveBug here to wish you a warm winter greeting in the days ahead.  Christmas is in my rear view mirror and the New Year is approaching next week.  I wanted to share a bookmark design I used for some gifts for my colleagues at the Local History and Genealogy Center in Bryan, OH.

The image and sentiment are part of a Julie Nutting stamp set.  The paper is Kathy Davis creations.  I started with a bookmark cut out of the KD paper and used a gel pen to highlight the image, the sentiment, and a circle from the paper.  I cut a 3-D flower from the same paper with my Cameo; I added a swatch of LoveBug Creations Mama's Mesh for dimension and texture under the tagged sentiment.

Mama's Mesh comes in a variety of fun colors to peak your crafty imagination along with our Rumple Ribbon and Simply Sheer hand-dyed ribbons which you can view HERE

Remember, no matter how you rumple your ribbon and piece your paper, have fun with it........cyberhugs........Mama LoveBug

Kristi's Super Cute Gift Card Holder ♥

Hello Lovebuggies! Kristi here from Little Paper Sprinkles!
Today I am sharing with you a cute, fun way to give a gift card (yes I know, my project pic is minus a gift card, bad me! ;) I haven't purchased any yet, procrastinator..that's me!)

To create this super cute holder grab your scraps, yep thats all I used. the tag can be any size you like, I measured a credit card and went from there! It is best if you use heavy cardstock so its sturdy! Add a border using a punch, my cover is handpainted, but a snowman cut from your machine would be super adorable too! To finish it off I added some Rumple Ribbon in Olive You!

I have been asked a few times about sharing how I paint my snowmen. That might just be coming soon!

Thanks for looking
Have a crafty Day!!

Happy Monday Crafty Friends!

It's Kathy, from Kathy and Kids, to share with you a Valentine's Day card.  You could also use this card for an Anniversary or even as a 'Just Because' card.

I got out my Valentine's papers and started working on the next Holiday for crafting.  I combined some Valentine's paper and stamps with Mama's Mesh in "Princess Party Pink"

Thanks for stopping by!

Another Mama's Mesh project!  I used the DCWV Garden Tea Party paper line to make a mini for the tea party I had from a few other posts.
I love how the mesh adds real texture but not bulk for those who aren't crafters.

We've Got A Secret - Santa Arrived Early!!

Hello Crafties!
LoveBug Creations Creative Team decided to share some well-deserved love with our teammates so we have a post today as a Secret Santa Surprise.  Each participating member was to create something for the holidays and include a special something for the recipient, but we can't tell who the lucky gal is just yet.......so here's what we created.

Mama LoveBug fashioned this..............the gal who gets this is extra-special in every thing she does.......hmm I wonder who she is?  I'll give one hint - she's a super crafter with lots of great ideas and a heart as big as the sun!

Recipe
*2 12 x 12 Echo Park patterned papers cut in a criss-cross horizontal style (enough to make another card as well)
*Sentiment from my stamp stash
*Snowman punch
*Sherri Baldy Bestie sitting on fence - gel pen and watercolor pencils
*Jaded Blossom tag die
*LoveBug Creations Rumple Ribbon

Kimi
Oh how fun this is!! I can't wait to see what the others made!!! I bet I'll be hoping each and every one of them is my Secret Santa!!!!

For my lucky lady I made a LapBook
using the tutorial from Kathy Orta!!
OH MY!
This is so much fun to make!
(don't tell but I totally screwed up several times and added my own Kimi style to it!)
But I do adore the finished effect...
so much so that I don't want to part with it...
BUT
I will! ;)

Here's a photo of the cover! LOTS of Lovebug Creations Simply Red Rumple Ribbon, pearls, Jaded Blossom "Gingerbread Wishes" and I believe Basic Grey papers!

and here's the video!!
Sorry it was late night and I was rushing a bit!

But it still shows all the cool interactive features of this!!!

Hope you've enjoyed!!
Don't forget to visit the other ladies to see their projects too!!!

The theme for this event is anything St Nick, so with that in mind I designed a card for Christmas using one of my favorite styles - the criss-cross card.  This style can be created in the horizontal or vertical - mine is vertical.  This forms a pocket for an insert which I really like so I can write my own message on the back of the insert.

 Recipe
*2 different Christmas papers - one patterned and one plain
*Image from Trina Clark's store - fussy cut and accented with gel pens
*Twine for the top and along the belly band
*Sentiment and stamped tree from my stamp stash
*Jaded Blossom tag die
*LoveBug Creations Christmas Grunge collection of Rumple Ribbon

If you're still reading, here for added mirth is my Merry Christmas Moose - she's soooooo cute and I really enjoyed fussy cutting her and adding an LBC Rumple Ribbon bow and a festive Cameo-cut flower!!

Now I'll send you on to Nadja to see what she made.............cyberJolly Old St Nick..........Mama LoveBug

Howdy!!  Working on holiday gifts??? Me, too!!
One person in my family asked for a handmade gift - I got this!
Same person, had a facebook rant a few weeks ago about the cost of greeting cards!!!
Only one choice... A set of hand made cards, more to come later but here are two with Mama's Mesh.
I can't get enough of this stuff.  The texture and look is so unlike anything in the crafting world, I use it all the time!
