Happy Birthday Katie!!!!! ♥

Happy birthday to one of our newest LBC Creative Team members, Katie Hand.  Ellen CardMonkey made this celebratory card for Katie, using braided Rumple Ribbons (Fun Footz Crazy Chevrons, Olive and Caddy Blue On the Edge) atop papers by Kathy Davis Studios.

The gatefold card is cleverly held together by the paper's fussy cut watercolored butterfly.

Check out Ellen's post about this card at http://cardmonkeyspaperjungle.com.

And now for cards made by some of the other Team Members for Katie's Special Day!!!

Dawn Mercedes' Magnificent Mason Jar & Dorcas' Special Gift For Sister ♥

Want to upcycle a little decor piece for your home?  Click on over to my blog for all the details on how to tint a mason jar!  Here I used Sunset Rumple Ribbon.  My first favorite. Good thing I let my self have many, many favorites!!

Now, do I fill this with candy corn...or sun flowers?

And now for Dorcas' Project
My oldest sister is a big Donny & Marie fan.  In fact, seeing them is on her bucket list.  She lives in Tennessee so we don't see her as often as we'd like, BUT, Donny  & Marie are coming to Miami in December so we got her tickets to see them.  Well, we are all going together.  :)  Since we are going to spend time with her this weekend, I created a mini bucket for her with the seating chart showing the FLOOR seats we purchased.  Using Sunflower rumple ribbon was a perfect contrast to the red cellophane bag.  I think she's going to love this.

As you read this, I'm not home. I'm attending a genealogy conference this week in Ft Wayne, Indiana and I know it's going to be fun crazy!!

I love to read and I belong to a reading group through our local library.  I also have a Cameo, which I'm learning how to design and cut with, so for this hop I decided to make two bookmarks for the Walk On The Wild Side theme.  I checked out the print and cuts at the Cameo store and found this zebra - now I have lots of zebra images, but this is the first one I've seen with both a front and back zebra.  So I elongated both sides to make the images an appropriate length and width for a bookmark.
I cut out each zebra side twice with mirror image to make a front and back for each bookmark.

Recipe:
*Print and Cut Zebra Front and Back from the Cameo Store
*Gel pens for highlighting and glitz

Dorcas & Dawn Mercedes Go Green ♥

Seems like babies are everywhere these days!  A friend asked for my help in making these cute diaper invitations.  I'm sure you all have seen them over the years, but she fell in love with them.  It took a little time to figure out, but once I did, cutting and making them was easy.  The colors go so perfectly with this beautiful rumple ribbon, don't you think?

Don't forget to swing by my blog too!!!

And now for Dawn Mercedes' Project!!!!

Green Leaves Rumple Ribbon isn't just for the spring, summer, and out of doors. Just look what warm and cheer it can bring to your Christmas cards!  I love it against the red Glitter Swirl paper from The Robin's Nest!

Just think how you might personalize that mini gift tag!

Summer is ending. That means that it's time to start revving up for
your fall/winter craft plans.  Surprise me on my blog and let me know what YOU
are planning on creating this year!!

Fun In The Sun Blog Hop

Welcome to the Fun In The Sun Blog Hop. If you strolled on the beach from LORI you are on the right path, but if you want to start at the beginning of the beach spots, surf over to our blog hostess, MIRANDA

Scrapping for Less is sponsoring a wonderful prize. A prize of your choosing. Scrapping for Less is a Facebook Scrapbook retail store where Teresa Russell sells scrapbook supplies...hot, trendy, current, and brand new to the market supplies at less than retail costs. It is basically a retail/pre-order group where you commit to ordering what is offered up for sale and then invoices are sent just a couple days before the stated order date. There are also typically current "items in stock" available for purchase also. Scrapping for Less is offering a $20 credit to the winner of the hop. You must comment on each stop in order to be eligible to win the credit. More info on this is at Miranda's beach front!

Fun In The Sun resonated the idea of outdoors, family/friends, reading, and food.  I don't live near a beach, but that doesn't mean I couldn't arrange a set-up for an outdoor barbeque with reading pals!  With that idea I designed several projects - one for my reading friends and one for a table decor.

Book Mark for Reading Pals - I love to read and do a lot of this each day - out on our covered front porch I can enjoy my past time no matter what the weather is like - sunny or rainy - it doesn't matter - time to curl up with a good book that will engage and entertain..........so here's a fun bookmark I made.
Recipe
*Specialty cardstock from our local craft store
*Kraft cardstock for the bookmark base
*SVG Cutting Files Kawaii Summer Clothing flip flops - the top one is adhered right onto the cardstock and the bottom is adhered on a dimensional to give texture; gel pens for accent - HERE
*Computer-generated sentiment - Do Not Disturb - WCPL Reading Zone (Williams County Public Library)
*LoveBug Creations Rumple Ribbon for a finishing touch bow - HERE

Table Decor for a Fun In The Sun Barbeque - I love whimsical projects so this little gal caught my eye and I knew I had to use her somehow in this hop. She's definitely a conversation piece.

Recipe
*Digital image from Paper Shelter - printed, fussy cut, gel-pens for accent, as well as Stickles - HERE
*She was cut out twice - one regular image and the other a horizontal reverse; I fussy cut these and then adhered each side to sturdy Kraft cardstock, which had to be fussy cut as well - that makes 4 cuttings to be adhered together to make a double-sided stand-up card or table favor.  Of course the fun comes with the gel pens and the Stickles!
*LoveBug Creations Fun Footz chevron bow for her hair - HERE

I used Mama's mesh  in "Lemonade" on my card. Love the texture it lends to any project!!

Hi, I'm Connie and I'm thrilled to be a new CT member here at Lovebug Creations! I'm a wife of 16 years to an awesome guy who supports this crazy habit of mine, a mom to two teenage boys, a college student (hopeful future nurse), and a crazy crafter. I have crafted my entire life thanks to an awesome mom but have only been scrapbooking and card making about 18 years.  I love learning new tricks and techniques and if I can inspire you then I am one happy gal! My Cricuts are my therapists. I adore those machines. I am lucky enough to have one that cuts SVG files so for me the sky is the limit. I use them daily. I encourage you to come visit my blog Connie Can Crop and see what kind of trouble I can get in to with Mama Mesh and Rumple Ribbon!! I know I can't wait to hang out with you all!

Hello, my name is Kathy Gillon and I am excited to be joining the Lovebug Creations Creative Team!   I am a Chemist by profession and a Crafter at heart.  I am also a Mom to 3 wonderful and busy kids.  I have been given the title of soccer-volleyball-track-cross country-football-baseball-wrestling-cheer-dance Mom.   When I’m not busy being a Mom or working, I love to craft!  I enjoy making cards, scrapbook layouts, and other paper crafts.  I also enjoy sewing and crocheting, and knitting, and I love to incorporate my sewing/crocheting into my paper craft projects.  I am excited to be creating and sharing with Rumple Ribbons!

Hello there! I'm Katie!! I am a mom of two grown kids and grandma to the cutest kid ever!  When my babies left the nest a few years ago I took the opportunity to live a life long dream of becoming a city slicker!  I live in a great neighborhood in Chicago and love all the big city has to offer.  At heart, I am still a small town girl.  I love the time I spend in craft room.  I gain such energy and peace from making cards, mini albums and any number of 3D projects.  Most of my cards support Operation Write Home, but more and more find myself branching out in to more dimensional and exciting projects.

Hi there! My name is Stacey and I am a wife and mom to 2 amazing young adults.  I have been crafting for about 8 years now. It started when my amazing husband presented me with a box filled with scrapbooking supplies for Christmas one year after remembering me say that it was something that I wanted to try. From that point on, I was hooked! If I had to define my style, I would say that I create more "cute-sy" type of projects, with the occasional elegant project thrown in lol! Even though I started out as a scrapbooker, I slowly found cardmaking and it has since taken over. I also love to alter items and make 3D paper projects. I am so excited and honored to be a part of the LoveBug Creations Creative Team and look forward to sharing my projects with you.
The new ladies will be posting projects starting September 2!! So make sure to visit them all and congratulate them!!! We're over the moon to have these amazingly talented ladies join us!!!!

Bug Hugs,
Kimi

The Fun Never Stops with Ellen ♥

CardMonkey (Ellen) here with my weekly show-and-tell for the fantastic Lovebug Creations Creative Team ...

What's your summer style? Kickin' back poolside, or getting ready for school to start up again?  Traveling to the beach, or hitting the mountains?  Well I can tell you one thing -- it is unlike any CardMonkey I know to be hitting a camper ... but if one looked THIS cute, I might have to try it!

Hop over to my blog (http://cardmonkeyspaperjungle.com) to see how I ramped up this Card Kitchen kit card by jazzing it with some of my  favorite Fun Footz Rumple Ribbon (Chevron Junkie Collection) by Lovebug Creations.  See it there under the camper's wheels? Just enough to add some color and some interest.

Dorcas & Dawn Mercedes Celebrate Birthdays & Back to School ♥

Hi everyone!

We recently celebrated my sister's birthday.  My daughter wanted to give her a gift, so we quickly packaged up some cute hair clips (because hers had broken) and we tied it with ballet slippers rumple ribbon.  I have been dying to use the Jaded Blossom Flag die and decided to use this striped paper straw and create a flag for it.  I think it's cute.  What do you think?

Don't forget to visit my blog too!

and now for Dawn Mercedes' project

Getting ready to ship those kiddos off to school?
Why not make a little pocket for them to tuck in their new pencils.
(Or gift to a teacher...who can never have enough in her stash!)

Here I used the Apple Treat Box svg file
from The Cutting Cafe.  Cut two apples and two stems.
Just remember to "flip" the image if you are using printed paper
so that your shapes are mirror images.
That way, they line up when you line them up.

Green Leaves Rumple Ribbon is the perfect color for implied apple leaves!

And, your student, or teacher, will have a smile on their face every time
they need to get out a new pencil!
