Paper Piecings by Nikki DT Offering- The Liberty Bear Bookmark

Happy Leap Year Day!  For craftiness today I’ve chosen a paper pattern from Paper Piecings by Nikki called I Love NY, which can be found at the online store at http://www.paperpiecingsbynikki.com/ and created a bookmark with the darling Liberty Bear image and the sentiment, which also comes with this set – I Heart NY.

I have a genealogy friend who loves to read and lives in the Big Apple so this works for her; I can image someone, who is sitting in an airport wherever and reading a book, would enjoy the memory of NY and the immigrants who passed through such places as Ellis Island on their way to a better life for their families.

Remember, no matter how you piece your paper, have fun with it!

Hope you have a great day and thanks for stopping by……..cyberhugs from Mama LoveBug!

Paper Piecings by Nikki DT Offering- We Love Our Troops

Good Monday Morning, Crafty Friends! What a lovely sunny day it is in NW Ohio! It’s the kind of day that makes one happy to be alive and fortunate to be living in our glorious US!

For today Mama LoveBug designed a pocket card in honor of our US troops who are returning from tours in foreign places – keeping the world safe for democracy!  Maybe that sounds a bit corny, but I don’t care – I appreciate all that these fine people do to protect and defend our freedom.  I don’t go to bed at night worried about invasion from foreign soil because of the sacrifices of others. When I think of a special spot in the US that represents the beacon of what America stands for, I automatically think of NYC and the Statue of Liberty; so with that in mind, I’ve chosen a paper pattern from Paper Piecings by Nikki called I Love NY, which can be found at the online store at http://www.paperpiecingsbynikki.com/

The Big Apple had to have apple paper and fortunately for me, I had a piece from which I constructed the pocket card.  This was double-sided paper which was really lots of fun to use as I crimped an extra strip and adhered it to the border below the lip of the base card.  I had several Pink By Design Stamps to use for the sentiment – Welcome Home and We Love Our Troops.  For the insert I used the Statue of Liberty Bear, which I fussy cut and glitzed with gel pens.

Remember, no matter how you piece your paper, have fun with it!

Hope you have a great day and thanks for stopping by……..cyberhugs from Mama LoveBug!

Paper Piecings by Nikki DT Offering- Luck O The Irish Wall Hanging

Top of a Sunday Morning To Crafty Peeps – Mama LoveBug from LoveBug Creations designed a door knob hanging from the Paper Piecings by Nikki collection called Luck O The Irish found on her online store at http://www.paperpiecingsbynikki.com/

I’ve made a card, a tag, and now this wall hanging or doorknob decoration for anyone who has a bit of the Irish in the family.  I think this would be a sweet addition on the door or bulletin board of a teacher too.

I used some designer paper and crimped it; next I adhered it to the pot of gold.  I printed off several pots and fussy cut the gold coins to make several layers and "pot-dotted" the top layer to give some dimension.  I fussy cut and adhered the juggler, the rainbow, and the Kiss Me bears in different spots of the pot.  Then I finished the Irish hanging with several brads, some twine, and some ribbon to make the Pot of Gold at the End of the Rainbow.

Remember, no matter how you piece your paper, have fun with it!

Hope you have a great day and thanks for stopping by……..cyberhugs from Mama LoveBug!

Paper Piecings by Nikki DT Offering- Luck O The Irish Tag

Top of a Tuesday Morning To Ya Mama LoveBug from LoveBug Creations designed a gift tag (although it could be used as a bookmarker as well) from the Paper Piecings by Nikki collection called Luck O The Irish found on her online store at http://www.paperpiecingsbynikki.com/

I used two images from the pattern collection – Rainbow Bear with a sweet sentiment – and Juggling Bear for the paper I created.  I printed off and fussy cut the rainbow sweetie and added the sentiment to the cloud.  I used gel pens to give more dimension to the character and added some green ribbon on the top.  PPbN patterns are not just for LO’s as you can see.

Remember, no matter how you piece your paper, have fun with it!

Hope you have a great day and thanks for stopping by……..cyberhugs from Mama LoveBug!

Love Is In The Air Blog Hop - Day #1

Welcome to the Love Is In The Air Blog Hop!
LoveBug Creations is pleased to be a part of this love fest and thanks Lisa Pontious for hosting the event! This is a two-day hop so you should have plenty of time to visit each station and leave some love comments! Two projects posted - one per day!

The lineup consists of some fine crafters who want to share their “love” with you!  The talent is overflowing on this one:
Mama LoveBug is presenting some “love cards” today; Kimi will be here tomorrow – so please stop back!  You also need to know that in the LoveBug house we have a ton of girls so creating girly Valentines here is a no-brainer!

Ok, love can be found in the air of any crafty designer, both professional and amateur alike.  I’m definitely in the amateur category, but I do have lots of fun with paper!  I discovered three things about my card mojo:

1. I adore making pocket cards.  I know every card maker probably has a favorite style, but since I started making these, I haven’t stopped.  I guess it’s the novelty, which fits my “whimsy”!
2. I heart digi stamps – again once I discovered them (yah, I’m a late bloomer), I have been fascinated with the process of download to finished product. I love characters and the challenge of making them come to life.  La La Land has a wonderful assortment to have some fun moments with!
3. I enjoy tinkering with other forms of images, so I bought a Lalaloopsy paper doll book (they live in a colorful world) and colored, fussy cut, and glitzed those images to make some cards for friends and family.  Another different form for me is the amazing Paper Piecings by Nikki and I had to make a card from her darling Cupid Bear set plus I created some paper for this card from the collection as well.

So here’s a few of the “love is in the air” pocket cards in my crafting arsenal:

Share The Love Blog Hop - Can We Change The World Today??

Good Friday to you all – let’s help change the world today!
LoveBug Creations is pleased to be a part of the Share The Love Blog Hop being sponsored by Paper Piecings by Nikki. We are having a short hop to celebrate sharing love! Nikki has so many cute paper piecings and we want to show them off! If you see something you'd like, visit Nikki's page to make a purchase!

AND - Here’s the exciting part - A dollar from every sale goes to a ton of different charitable organizations:
A Broader Way, American Red Cross, Breast Cancer Awareness, JDRF, Make A Wish Foundation, Operation Smile, Partnership For A Drug Free America, PAWS, Save The Children, and St. Jude.

This is how we share the love!!

to make a project to link up on either Nikki's Blog or her facebook page. And as a bonus there’s blog candy! Nikki’s blog has all the particulars for this.

The line up for the Share The Love event is:

Mama LoveBug is up first – "Always Remember" -you know many people like to talk about sharing, but Nikki goes beyond that – she actually does something, so when she devised this plan to “share the love”, I was totally on board with the idea.  One of her darling pattern piecings with patchwork animals called You Are So Loved just seemed so right for me to make a pocket card.

I took the piecings and fussy cut them, then stamped a cause ribbon in various spots on the animals, used gel pens and stickles for accent, and created the base, the insert, and the pull tag on the insert with a larger pink ribbon for Breast Cancer Awareness.  I finished it off with "thanks for your support" stamp from Pink By Design.

The insert

And the base

For my project (Kimi) I wanted to make a layout using the "Cuddly Cupids Pattern Set"!

Whole Layout

The sentiment is from Pink by Design! The set "a haunting we will go" which one would associate with Halloween but I've discovered its got endless possibilities!

Paper Piecings by Nikki DT Offering- There's No Place Like Home Pocket Card

Hello Monday – time for a crafty look at the Wizard of Oz theme using a new collection at Paper Piecings by Nikki called There’s No Place Like Home.

Mama LoveBug of LoveBug Creations created a pocket card from this collection with a little twist – There’s No Place Like Home With You.  I fussy cut out the characters, used gel glitter pens, and stickles to enhance the characters – Dorothy (those ruby slippers are oh so cute!) with Toto in the basket being invaded by the Wicked Witch on her broom and a Flying Monkey on the insert pull. I took a sideways pic to show the details.

Then I used the yellow brick road to create the base of the pocket card and attached that iconic threesome – the Tin Man, the Cowardly Lion (check out his tail), and of course, the loveable Scarecrow. And here's the finished card.

Check out other patterns, info about the Pattern Club and exclusives, plus the charities that Nikki supports.  There’ll be a PPbN DT Blog Hop – Share the Love – coming up on Friday, February 10th with some sweet treats!
