Paper Piecings by Nikki DT Offering - Monday Friendship With PPbN Stamps

Good Monday and Good Friendship to LoveBug Creations Fans!

Today I am sharing a Friendship Card I made using several PPbN items - I made paper with the cute Stars from the Super Plumbers Set; then I used the delightful bear from the Lego-inspired collection, and thirdly I embossed some marvelous stamps from PPbN's newest enterprise - clear stamps.  These stamps are wonderful and priced VERY reasonably priced.  The set has both images and sentiments such as You R My Sunshine.

I added gel pen enhancement, Stickles, and some sunny paper from my paper stash after fussy cutting the images.  So much fun and delight went into this card.

PPbN's patterns and stamps are so unique - do some comparison shopping and I'm sure you'll agree - you get more bang for your buck located at http://www.paperpiecingsbynikki.com/

Paper Hoarders DT Offering - Memorial Day Projects

Good Friday to All Crafties!  Today as a Paper Hoarder DT project we were asked to make something appropriate for Memorial Day.

Tanya, our PH guru, has a listing on her blog of all the projects; this can be found at http://scrappinkymomma.blogspot.com/ so please check them out and drop a love note for each designer!

Mama LoveBug is up first.  I love those La-La Land stamps so I knew my project had to include one - a saluting girl with colored pencils and gel pen accents plus Pink By Design sentiments w/gold embossing and some lovely patriotic paper from DCWV,  This is a Memorial Day pocket card and like the sentiments say - Home of the Free because of the Brave ....Whenever I see the flag I think of YOU........my dad, Staff Sgt. William G Pattison, US Army Air Corps, WWII Veteran.

Hello Everyone!! For my project I made a layout of my Grandpa- Staff Sgt. William G Pattison, US Army Air Corps, WWII Veteran! I had a hard time with this one as in just a few weeks it will be 5 years since we had to say good-bye to him. He was one of the best men I have ever met....Honest, Brave, Hard-working, Loving...just one heck of a guy. I love my grandpa and I miss him so much. So to honor him I made this layout...

Full View...Isn't he handsome in his uniform???

Close up of the smaller pics. 1st on is a ship that my husband bought for my grandpa when he was in the hospital shortly before he passed away. The 2nd is the flag and American Eagle that were on the corner of his casket and the 3rd is of the bullet from the gun salute at his funeral.

Close up of the name/date banners and the quilt effect "My Hero"

Close up of the flowers...I put the pearls in the centers to add a bit of my grandma to it...She loves pearls! :)

Thank you Tanya for making this our project for this week! I had a great time making this and remembering my Grandpa (My Hero) and what a wonderful man he was!

Goofy For You- PPbN DT Thursday Inspiration

Good Morning everyone! I'm back with another fun card from Paper Piecings by Nikki's "Clubhouse Friends set! If you haven't been to check out Nikki's adorable piecings...well...what are you waiting for? She has so many adorable sets that are very reasonably priced! And as I've been trying to show these last 5 weeks you can use them for different things than you may think when you see the sets! When I first saw the Clubhouse Friends set I thought how adorable...But I've never been to Disney World (or Land) and I don't think I could use these for anything...Boy was I wrong! I've made several friendship/Love cards using this set! Each one as different as the character!
For this card I used:
Stampin' Up! Cardstock
Plain white cardstock that I used a border punch on
Disney Paper from my LSS
"Green Hat Bear" from PPbN's "Clubhouse Friends" set
Buttons from EKSuccess
And I stamped the sentiment using "Say It In Type" From KinderStampo!

I hope you enjoy this card and it inspires you to think of different ways you can use Nikki's Patterns!!
Until next time...

Bug Hugs,
Kimi

Paper Piecings by Nikki DT Offering - Monday Inspiration

Good Monday to Crafties!  Today I want to show you a little card I made for my grandson's 5th Birthday AND his first T-Ball experience the following day.

Diego was one happy lad to be playing his first game and on the line-up, he was #1.  He hit both times he was up to bat and never had to use the T.........not bad for his first slugger time!  In honor of that I used
*Paper Piecings by Nikki pattern collection
*La-La Land Luka in baseball uniform - love the baseball diamond from PPbN on which to position the image
*Made my own paper for the pocket base using the PPbN design
*Embossed some sports equipment and sentiments from Pink By Design

Here's the card, 2 pics of the insert, and the base for the little slugger.

Thanks for stopping by............cyberhugs.........Mama LoveBug!

A Mother's Heart Is A Patchwork of Love Blog Hop - Day 2

Welcome back to the second and final day of A Mother's Heart Is A Patchwork of Love Blog Hop.

Happy Mother's Day!!!.........to my mom, my daughters who are moms, and all our LoveBug Creations fans who fit this patchwork of love criterion!!

For today I made a Mother's Day card using the patchwork technique of punching out squares of K and Company paper, adhering them on a piece of white cardstock, then running this through my Sizzix Big Kick using a fancy fan die.  This became the insert for my pocket card.  I used a Loralie Design Art Stamp for the insert - embossed in gold and then the skirt and flowers from the same stamp set which were also embossed in gold and finished it up with a Pink By Design sentiment.  To finish off the card I used my corner comper and my crimper.

Here is the finished card, the insert, and the base.

The line up of amazing crafters is as follows:

For my project I wanted to highlight two aspects of the patchwork of love I have for my mother, Phyllis, who will be 90 years old next month and is affectionately known in our house as GG (great-grandma)!  Wow, what a milestone for her!!

#1 - Whenever mom came to visit us, we’d present her with all kinds of mending projects as she loved to sew, and quite frankly, if they stop making safety pins, I’m in big trouble…………Mom’s love was in every stitch………so here’s to the element of
SEWING!!

Recipe -
*Loralie Designs Art Stamp that I stamped, embossed, and colored
*Sewing stamps which I embossed and fussy cut
*Mambo cardstock that I fashioned into a pocket card for base and insert
*Pink By Design sentiments and Spellbinder label die for the center of the base
*Crimper and corner rounder
*Lots of love

#2 - Whenever my mom came to visit us, she would literally take over the kitchen.  My husband and our girls looked forward to all her homemade treats and dynamite full-course meals.  Before I retired two years ago, I was a teacher who lived 25 miles away from my school, so I spent a lot of time in the car.  By the time I got home, one of the last things I took any joy from was preparing dinner, but I did it – not with a great deal of relish, BUT when mom was there, I’d find the table set and a gem-of-a-meal prepared for us………Mom’s love was in every bite…….so here’s to the element of COOKING and BAKING!!

Recipe -
*La-La Land Marci baker digi which I printed off and colored, then fussy cut
*Pink By Design sentiment
*Mambo cardstock that I fashioned into a pocket card for base and insert - the spatula, spoon, and banner were cut from this Mambo cardstock
*Crimper and corner rounder
*Lots of love

My mom is my best supporter, cheerleader, confessor, and sympathizer.  She is the essence of A Mother's Heart Is A Patchwork of Love...........

Thanks for stopping by and remember, no matter how you piece your paper, have fun with it.  Come back tomorrow for a new project! Don't forget to drop me some love and become a follower if you're not!  Next stop on the hop is Jessi - http://mylifeinartscrafts.blogspot.com/

Paper Hoarders DT Offering - Mother's Day

Welcome to a Paper Hoarder's DT Day!  Our marvelous PH guru- Tanya - has pictures of the DT offerings on her blog at http://scrappinkymomma.blogspot.com/ so please check them out and drop a love note for each designer!

For my (Kimi) project I wanted to make something springy as a gift for my mom for Mother's Day! I found a cool tutorial on the DCWV YouTube page for a fun wreath and ran with it. I changed a few things and I love how it turned out! Hope Mama LoveBug Loves it as much!
Here's a picture of it hanging..well as best as I could! Just moved and I don't have a wreath hanger thing on my front door yet! So I hung it on the outside of my craft closet! :)

Photo of it laying down!

Close up of the flowers!

I have 4 children so I made I flower for each one! My oldest daughter is the purple, my two middle children are boy & girl and only 14 months apart and then the little purple for my baby girl! Each flower is as different as each of the kiddos! I figured it was a great way to incorporate them into this project!! :) Now keep scrolling down to check out Mama's awesome project!!! :)

This offering was set to be either spring or Mother's Day - our choice, so Mama LoveBug decided to get in the Mother's Day spirit with a pocket card for her daughters who are mothers - Melissa and Kimberly.

I took a darling La-La Land Marci digi and colored her using my watercolor pencils and gel pens.  I used Stickles for highlights and added some gems, Pink By Design sentiment, and SU butterfly punch for embellies.  The old crimper came out as well as the corner chomper to give a softer appearance.  The cardstock was K and Company double-sided paper.  Hope you visit the other DT offerings today and are inspired to try your hand at designing a sweet card for any Mother in your life.  Come back tomorrow for a Patchwork of Love Blog Hop which will feature a 2-day Mother's Celebration.

Monday Inspiration: PPbN Design Team Offering

Marvelous Monday to you!  Today Mama LoveBug from LoveBug Creations is sharing a friendship pocket card with you.  This was created from the Paper Piecings by Nikki collection called I Love HOO You Are! found at http://www.paperpiecingsbynikki.com/item_109/I-Love-HOO-You-Are-PatternImage-Set.htm

To show off the versatility of this collection I made a friendship card for someone who adores sewing.  I took the girl owl and fussy cut her pattern after I downloaded it to my computer and printed it off.  Next I used gel pens to add dimension and a white gel pen to make little stitching marks along her wings.  Then I embossed several stamps using TCP sentiments – Friendships Are Sewn One Stitch At a Time and You Are Sew Amazing.  The background paper for the insert is from a paper stash I had with stitching details.

I made owl paper for the pocket base using the image from the collection. Again using paper stash background paper with delicate stitching for the pocket lip and top I added SU pleated ribbon and an offset SU pattern stamp, which I also embossed.

Check out this and the many other paper piecing collections at Paper Piecings by Nikki http://www.paperpiecingsbynikki.com/

Remember, no matter how you piece your paper, have fun with it!  ...........cyberhugs.........Mama LoveBug!

Thursday Inspiration: PPbN DT Offering

Good Morning Friends! Today I wanted to share with you a card I made using the "Clubhouse Friends" set by Paper Piecings by Nikki! I absolutely love this set! Such cute little characters that can be used on just about anything!

I made this card using some Stampin' Up! cardstock, a border punch, plain white cardstock, pattern paper (can't remember what stack though!). The stamp is Pink by Design. I did the banner using my gypsy! The flower was my very first attempt at flower making. I think for my first try it didn't turn out too bad and thought it would look perfect on this card! Of course the main piece is from the "Clubhouse Friends" set!
Hope you enjoy this card and don't forget to check out Nikki's patterns! You are going to find something there you'll love! :)

Bug Hugs,
Kimi
