Passion for Life Isn't Plain - Mama LoveBug Style

Hello Crafties!  What's crafting without passion?  I am sharing a card that can be used for several reasons - perhaps you know someone who is feeling blue and needs a pick-me-up?  Perhaps you have a person in your life who has made a recovery or has had a great achievement and you want to congratulate him/her? Finally, you could give this style to someone in your "love zone" - purely unexpected but from the heart!

The basic elements are from my stash of Stampin Up materials - cardstock, inks, stamps, punches, etc.  Of course I utilized a swatch of Mama's Mesh from our collection at LoveBug Creations HERE

I found that without the Mama's Mesh (in Gentleman's Jacket) my card was rather plain and who wants that - passion isn't plain!

Here's to passion in whatever you do..............

Remember, no matter how you piece your paper and rumple you ribbon, have fun with it..........cyberhugs........Mama LoveBug

Cowabunga - Mama LoveBug's Home Is Where The Herd Is

Good Day, Crafties………Mama LoveBug here asking the question – do you use digi stamps?  Do you know there are megatons of freebies online that may be a catalyst for some mojo-crafting?

I found a quilted cow freebie digi at Beccy’s Place http://beccysplace.blogspot.com/2010/08/quilted-cow.html
that really moooved me to try a double-sided stand up card.  Thank you, Becky!! The quilting was such a cute idea so I got out my colored pencils after I printed off the digi (2x – one in horizontal reverse) and proceeded to color up a storm.  I used my Star Dust gel pen and Stickles for some highlighting, fussy cut the two images and then placed them on some substantial Kraft cardstock and fussy cut yet another layer for each side……….hey, that’s a lot of fussy cutting………I love my scissors!!

After all this is done, I used double-sided tape to adhere the tops of the cows so the bovine will stand up on her own……….cowabunga……….she had to have a LoveBug Creations Rumple Ribbon Bow (On the Edge) sold HERE……….

and finally a computer-generated sentiment –
Home Is Where The Herd Is........... here is my udderly charming Miss Cowrumple……….

Remember, no matter how you piece your paper and rumple your ribbon, have fun with it……….cyberhugs …………Mama LoveBug

Ellen's Beautiful Smile!!!! ♥

Buttercream Rumple Ribbon takes center stage today on this adorable kit card that Ellen/CardMonkey modified to personalize.

Changing up a Card Kitchen kit card by Jillibean Soup, Ellen added a pretty pink button topped by a navy dotted fabric flower from Close To My Heart. She moved the sticker from the kit to be next to the button, and changed up standard ribbon in the kit for one of her favorite Rumple Ribbons.

Hop by to Ellen's blog if you'd like more information.

Birthday Blessings to you, Jessica!! Jessica, a talented crafter, is a gal who loves purple (me too), has a great sense of humor, and, I suspect, has a whimsical side to her........

I found this cute poem online and wanted to share it with the blog hop guests today -

To craft or not to craft, that is the question:
To layer, perchance to mat,
Whether 'tis nobler in the mind to decoupage
or embellish,
To trim, perhaps to weep to wet the mulberry,
Spirelli or spin, or seal, or stick,
Or stamp and emboss,
aye there's always the rub (on transfer)
Or simply dust.
Apologies to WS (William Shakespeare)
Written by Gillyg

So, here is what I created in honor of her special day:
Super Jessica - a double-sided stand-up card with a birthday tag

Recipe
* A delightful digital stamp by Sherri Baldy (lots of fussy cutting here so she doesn't fall over) that I colored with watercolor pencils, added Stickles, and used my Stardust Gel Pen for highlights; please note that I enjoy crafting but am NOT a photographer.......LOL

*A tag die from Jaded Blossom that I faux stitched and added two shades of purple LoveBug Creations Rumple Ribbon for the tag's bow and two butterfly Spellbinder die cuts layered for dimension plus a Happy Birthday sticker from my stash
Hope you enjoyed my project.
Now, its time to go on to Janet's Blog!

Here is the lineup in case you get lost along the way!

Good Morning, Crafties!  Time to put my new Cameo to work on a wedding project for a friend who needed some celebration favors! The Silhouette Cameo Store has a little black dress party favor that fit the bill.  I cut it out and added LoveBug Creation's Simply White to make bows on the front and back AND I used Mama's Mesh for the dress bodices and the sides of the favor treat box.

Here's what it looks like:

Next here's a picture of the side view.

Father's Day Hop - Time to Salute the Dads in Your Life

Looking for the 100 Acre Woods Blog Hop - click HERE

Welcome to The Father’s Day Hop.  If you zipped over from Connie you are on the right course, but if you stumbled on this hop and want to start with our blog hostess, go to Miranda

Father’s Day for me is bittersweet as my dad (William George Pattison) passed away about a week from Father’s Day in 2006.  He was the very best of fathers and always remains in my heart as the Model Dad!!  He was charming and funny; he was the ultimate gentleman and hard worker.  He provided a wonderful life for my mother and me.  As a Staff Sergeant in the Army Air Corps, he was a veteran of WWII and a proud member of the SAR, VFW, and American Legion.

After he retired as a tool-and-die maker for Chrysler, he enjoyed playing cards, especially cribbage, golf, bowling, and making jewelry, but his special passion was cheering on his football team, The Pittsburgh Steelers. His third-great-grandfather, Nathaniel Wilson Smith, was a jeweler of note in the Pittsburgh, PA-Columbus, OH-Wheeling, WVA areas, so I imagine that’s the impetus for jewelry designing and football preference.

Whenever I think of the colors I’d associate with my father, they would be yellow and brown – he favored that combo and usually wore some sort of yellow polo and brown slacks for casual wear.  With that in mind, I decided to try out a few new products (to me), to design a Father’s Day card in his memory.

Recipe
*Mr. Huey Mask - Chevron and Mr. Huey Sprays in yellow and brown - instead of stamping the triple layers, I sprayed using the chevron mask (1st time to do this)
*Triple-Stamped Card base with SU Yellow and Whisper White cardstock
*Tie Stamp and Sentiment from SU, stamped in brown and brown Stickles for tie
*Punched base on yellow using two different SU punches
*White and yellow twine
*Mama's Mesh from LoveBug Creations HERE under New Product
*A ton of love

Since I have a new tool in my crafty arsenal, a Cameo, I had to give it a whirl on several tie cards for my husband - I made two but can't decide which I like best.........these were shirt and tie cuts from the Silhouette Cameo Store plus DCWV double-sided paper and a bit of Stickling thrown in for a subtle glimmer; sentiment was from my stamp stash:

100 Acre Woods Blog Hop

Welcome to the 100 Acre Woods Blog Hop.  If you wish to begin this one-day hop at the beginning, check out the start spot with Connie our blog hostess.

Today, we are showcasing projects that deal with the theme of residents at 100 Acre Woods. If you’re not quite familiar with this fictional place, it’s the home of Winnie the Pooh and his friends, all created by author, A. A. Milne.

Mama LoveBug is here to share a double-sided stand up card of Winnie that could be used for a display, a table decoration, or a desk ornament.  The coloring book image was printed out twice for a front and back then I fussy cut each side. I then adhered each side to heavier Kraft paper and did some more fussy cutting (I didn't want him to fall over). I also cut out a little shirt from The Robin's Nest Sorbet Glitter collection (Kiwi) and a butterfly to rest on his shoulder. I colored with markers, Stickled in spots, and added a LoveBug Creations Rumple Ribbon bow tie.  The background paper for the photo was purchased at JoAnn's. Winnie is on display at our local library.

“If ever there is tomorrow when we're not together... there is something you must always remember. You are braver than you believe, stronger than you seem, and smarter than you think. But the most important thing is, even if we're apart... I'll always be with you.”
