See that wonderful texture under the bow of this Christmas card made by CardMonkey (Ellen) for posting today?  Ellen layered two pieces of Mama's Mesh -- one in a lipstick red and the other in a seafoam green. 

Now don't go looking for these colors in the Lovebug Creations online store -- they're home-colored!  Yes, the Mesh is SO versatile that you can color it up in any alcohol-based markers (Ellen used Copics) to match your card.

Ellen said: "I started with Mama's Mesh in white, cutting the pieces I wanted to color to size. I put a piece of scratch paper underneath the Mesh, and then, using the wide end of the Copic, I colored in circles over the mesh until the color was saturated."

"Magazines are my favorite source of inspiration," Ellen said. "And I'm disappointed that two of the industry's leaders are shutting down their hard-copy of their magazines."

First up is Ellen

Ellen (CardMonkey) has blogged before about how she likes to take cards that are part of a pre-designed kit, and make them special.  Today, she shows another that she's dressed up with Lovebug Creations' Rumple Ribbon.

"As was once said in an advertisement, things go better with ...." ... Rumple Ribbons, Ellen says in her post. Go to her blog to read more about stimulating your mojo with kits, and also about a fun and unique CardMonkey CardStock Club she's founded. 

The sunflower Rumple Ribbon makes this card, don't you think?  Everything else is kit-designed from Jillibean Soup's Card Kitchen, using papers this month from Jenni Bowlin Studio.

With general loss in mind, but thankfully no one in particular to whom this card needs to be sent, Ellen CardMonkey designed the card at left for her stash.

She incorporated both Close To My Heart's Laughing Lola designer paper, with "Simply Black" Rumple Ribbon to add a classic touch.  The sentiment is stamped with a beautiful new CTMH set called "Words of Comfort (C1524, $13.95), using CTMH Exclusive Ink in "Gypsy."  The metal flourished flower is also from Close To My Heart. Happy birthday to one of our newest LBC Creative Team members, Katie Hand.  Ellen CardMonkey made this celebratory card for Katie, using braided Rumple Ribbons (Fun Footz Crazy Chevrons, Olive and Caddy Blue On the Edge) atop papers by Kathy Davis Studios.

The gatefold card is cleverly held together by the paper's fussy cut watercolored butterfly.

Stephanie & Ellen Are Pretty In Pink!!!! ♥

Hey buggy friends!! It's so hard to believe that it's now August and before we know it, the kids will be back at school. Before that happens, I wanted to make a cheerful "Celebrate" card for the remaining summertime birthdays.

What ribbons scream "summer" and "cheer" better than these from the "Color Me Chevron" collection?

CardMonkey (Ellen) here, tying up pretty bows in LBC's classic Rumple Ribbons using the sweet "Pink Clouds" color for use on this sweet New Baby card:

For this card, I used the sweet "In The Bath" image from Mo's Digital Pencil that I colored with Copic markers and highlighted with a white gel pen and Close To My Heart Stardust Glitz. I then mounted the colored image onto CTMH cardstock in Cotton Candy, and added a sweet "Gently Wash" tag made using CTMH's upcoming Stamp of the Month (for December 2013), called "Special Care".  Atop of the tag, I tied a Rumple Ribbons bow using "Pink Clouds", and topped it with a sweet mini-clothespin from CTMH.

If you don't have a Consultant already, Ellen would be happy to provide you with a copy of the Idea Book and also share some more inspirational ideas on how to use the new products just introduced -- including the (oooh-la-la!) new Cricut/CTMH "Artbooking" cartridge!  If you're a scrapbooker,  Ellen says you MUST get this cartridge. "I'm 'just' a cardmaker and it is a wonderful addition to my toolbox," Ellen says.
