Kimberly's Spring Fling Blogaversary Hop

Welcome to Kimberly’s Spring Fling Blogaversary Hop.
LoveBug Creations (Pam aka Mama LoveBug) is pleased to be a part of this event today.  Congrats to Kimberly on being a blogger for a whole year! Kimberly has blog candy with specific requirements on her own site, so if you jumped into the hop without viewing her blog, you might want to zip back to see her info. Her sponsors for the hop are:

Creative Kut ~ $10 gift Certificate, Melissa Deuss KaDoddle Bug ~ $20 Gift Certificate, Mickie Burks Osman ~ a paper pack and some stamping goodies, Lucy Kelleher ~ Close To My Heart ~ December Stamp of the Month, Nikki Schiltz Calmes ~ Paper Piecings by Nikki ~ $25 credit to Paper Piecings by Nikki, and Scraptastical Kreations ~ $20 Gift Certificate

This hop started out as a one day affair and has now blossomed to a two day event and just like flowers popping up in the garden take on a uniqueness, so do our hop spots, each in her own way a treasure in Kimberly's Spring Fling.

The blog lineup is as follows:
5. Audrey Dickinson (Scrappie EMT) ~ http://scrappyemt.blogspot.com
9. Pamela Pattison Lash - http://lovebugcreations3.blogspot.com/  HERE
10. Tricia Colon ~ http://mycrazybubble.blogspot.com/ NEXT
11. Michele Eickholt ~ http://chelescrafts.blogspot.com/
18. Leslie Dawn Bigam-Krochta - http://www.lesliekcreations.blogspot.com/
For my first project I designed a pocket card with florals and spring colors to go with Kimberly's theme and felt a crafter groove going on to team two elements - sentiment stamps by Pink By Designs and an art stamp by Loralie Art Stamps Designs called "Hattie".

My granddaughter, Savannah, and I made up a song - "I'm crimping, I'm cutting" which fits this card - I made a pocket card with Heidi Grace double-sided designer paper and after forming the pocket I crimped a strip to go on the outside of the pocket lip.  It almost looks like patterned ribbon and stamped the sentiment on patterned paper, punched it out, and adhered it a little off-center below the crimped strip.

"A good friend shops with you for scrap supplies...a true friend helps you hide them." So true, so true!

Next came the insert using a new technique to me - double stamping.  I stamped the Hattie image on SU whisper white card stock, then stamped her again on the patterned paper.  After using my watercolor pencils and markers on the white image, I fussy cut her patterned paper hat, dress, and purse and attached these pieces to the white image.  I finished this off by using a corner chomper.  This was my first time trying this technique with these art stamps and I liked the results.

Here's a close-up where you can see the more detailed hair coloring and the use of stickles. - "When in doubt add glitter!"

And here is the finished pocket card for the hop.

For my second project I took a delightful paper pack from K and Company:

From this bountiful set, I selected several gorgeous papers and created my signature wearable art - brooches (or paper flowers).  I use a punch, adhesives, and decorative centers in my designs.  When they're dry, I affix a jeweler's backing or pin to the back of the brooch, so one can actually wear these or put them on purses, scarves, lamp shades, etc.   You can even wear them in your hair - endless possibilities! Here's the garden of brooches from this pack:

Thanks for stopping by my garden.....If you've a moment, become a fan of LBC and leave me a comment - as you know, anyone who prepares a project, writes a posting, and takes care of the little details of hopping, it's nice to get a mention.............cyberhugs from Mama LoveBug as you hop over to Tricia's blog garden at

I really love your brooches! They are absolutely gorgeous!!! I so want one. I've made a mini pin I don't think you would call it a brooch...what you have is a definite brooch! And your pocket tag is so cute! I like the little song you and your grand daughter made up too! ~ LoL

Some day I will be able to make flowers that lovely. I am still in the learning process when it comes to the flowers. It is always fun to craft with the little ones.

When in doubt, add stickles, I will surely remember that!@

Thank you so much for being part of my first anniversary blog hop.
