Mama LoveBug here -This is a one-day hop to explore the creativity of using Hello Kitty in various ways, but do you know much about Hello Kitty?  Sanrio, a Japanese company, launched the first Hello Kitty product, a coin purse, in 1974 as a marketing tool to promote interest for the image.  Today Hello Kitty is on a huge number of products, videos, games, etc.  She does not have a mouth because the concept was to allow the user to project a happy or sad feeling through friendship.  Also, did you know the original Hello Kitty had blue as her dominant dress color?
She has been a UNICEF ambassador to the United States since 1983 and to Japan since 1994. Then, in 2008, she was appointed as the official Japanese ambassador of tourism to both Hong Kong and China, the first fictional character to hold this title.  Wow, who knew?!

I made a Hello Kitty Perpetual Calendar - the inside has 12 sheets (one for each month) that allow one to record important events by the month and day; there's also a back cover.  This is perfect for keeping track of birthdays and anniversaries and not to have to recopy dates onto a new calendar.

I used LoveBug Creations NEW Simply Sheer (Loves Me Loves Me Knot) for HK's bow.

Next I took one of the LoveBug Creations NEW Beautiful Blooms (white) and sprayed it with some pink highlights for interesting detailing - you can also use ink for a distressed look, but my HK is bright and cheery so I went with the spray!
