Hi EVERYONE!
Wasn't Mama's card just too cute for words? LOVE IT!!! :) For my project I  used the same piecing from the collection and had him hold one of the stars from the set too! I used the DCWV stack "Summer Dreams" for the rosette and background, some ribbon from my stash and red glitter stars from "American Crafts" and the stamp is from KinderStampo's "Vintage Birthday" set!!! Hope you like my card!!!

Our Stars and Stripes – may our flag continue to fly over our country to demonstrate to the world that we are a nation based on liberty and equality - our colors don't run!!

Today I am sharing with you a 4th of July Celebration Brooch that I made using a SU punch and some double-sided flag paper.  You will also see some Stickles and a really neat center for the flower which makes the project complete.

This is a picture of the back of the brooch - a jeweler's pin.  This can be worn on a shirt or jacket or pinned on a purse, lampshade, etc - use your imagination!!

Extra Scraps - This is a project I posted yesterday from which I used the same flag paper that I used for the brooch so you can see I'm always looking for ways to use up scraps.

This little dynamite duo is made from paper patterns - Independence Day and I Love NY - collections from Paper Piecings by Nikki.  I fussy cut them and added glitz plus the celebrate stamp I had from Close to My Heart.

I hope you are enjoying the hop - become a follower and/or drop me a comment to be in the running for Lisa's big blog candy...........cyberhugs..........Mama LoveBug.

Let's continue the fireworks!!!

Mama LoveBug aka Pam of LoveBug Creations would like to share a pocket card today as a way of saying thank you to our USA traditions, history, and people who make this country THE BEST!!  I dipped into my arsenal of crafty things and designed this card with several symbols of our freedom in mind:

*Our wonderful Lady Liberty who was the first welcoming sight to many immigrants as they entered the US seeking refuge and a new way of life.
*Our US flag – may it continue to fly over our country to demonstrate to the world that we are a nation based on liberty and equality. (see how I used this tomorrow)
*Our colors – red, white, and blue – these colors don’t run from the face of tyranny.

Here she is - "Simply Betty Lady Liberty Pocket Card"

I used the digi stamp from Simply Betty Stamps, which I colored with watercolor pencils, gel pens, and Stickles - love them!!  The sentiments were from Close to My Heart and Pink By Design - God Bless the USA and You Make A Difference In The Life Of Our Country.  The paper was from my stash - various companies.  The pin with Let Freedom Ring was an embellie I bought at Archivers and the red metal dots I found in my glitter stash.

This is a close-up of the card base and the insert.

I had lots of fun designing this card and you could do it too..........remember, no matter how you piece your paper, have fun with it............BEFORE you go, I'd love you to take the time and become a LBC fan and/or leave a comment.  Thank you so much for hopping by.........cyberhugs.........Mama LoveBug!!

Paper Piecings by Nikki DT Offering - Liberty Bookmarks

Good Monday Crafties.  Today I want to share some Independence Day Liberty Bookmarks I made using 2 pattern designs from Paper Piecings by Nikki.  Tomorrow there's a blog hop with Team A PPbN's DT showcasing more projects using the theme of The Fourth of July.

I had some left over US flag paper and thought these Liberty bears would be just super as images on the flag.  You can find these patterns at Nikki's store located online at PPbN and check out these unique patterns at http://www.paperpiecingsbynikki.com/

Here's my bookmarks - the bear on the left is from the Independence Bear collection and the right hand bear is from the I Love New York collection.  You can image lots of possibilities with these sweeties for other projects - the sky's the limit!!

Remember, no matter how you piece your paper, have fun with it........thanks for stopping by AND come back tomorrow for Team A of PPbN's DT blog hop using the Independence pattern collection........cyberhugs.......Mama LoveBug

Surprise to You Nikki of PPbN - Happy Birthday!!

Today LoveBug Creations (Kimi and Pam) is celebrating the birthday of our Paper Piecings by Nikki fearless leader, owner, and designer of PPbN.  We're a mother-daughter blog and we're both on the PPbN DT; we're also the last stop of the hop, but if you just stumbled on us, there's a line-up below to check out our uber-talented DT sisters' spots.

Each of the participating DT gals has created a special card for Nikki including a birthday message on the backside of the card. The cards have all been placed in a book and will be sent to Nikki as a memento of her first Design Team - it's a labor of love, Nikki!!

Please take the time to stop in and visit each of our DT sisters’ blogs and make sure you leave some comments for the DT. We all depend on those comments to help us improve our work.

Here is the full blog spot listing:

This is our project (using Sweet Treat PPbN pattern collection) and some pics of the gold-embossed embellies:

Finally, here's a peek at our message to the birthday girl.

Thank you for helping to celebrate the birthday of a wonderful designer, but more importantly, our friend!
Happy Birthday Nikki!

Gimmie S'more!!!

Happy Thursday everyone!!!! I wanted to share with you all a double layout I made using the "Camping Crazy" set from Paper Piecings by Nikki paired with some fabulous DCWV papers! I used "The Ulitimate" Stack, "Blossoms & Butterflies" Stack, "Textures & Finishes" Stack as well as a few of their glitter papers! I wanted to show you that you can make Nikki's Patterns with different papers without using a cameo! I do NOT have one so I had to hand cut everything...Trace the patterns on DCWV paper....and then cut it all out again! Time consuming yes...But it can be done and I think the effect is well worth it! So without further ado here is my layout!!!

Hope you enjoy this LO and maybe it will inspire you to create something fun & cute as well! And if fun and cute is what you are looking for make sure to check out PPbN's patterns!!!
Until next time...

Bug Hugs,
Kimi

Paper Piecings by Nikki DT Offering - Perpetual B-Day Calendar

Good Monday, Crafties.  Mama LoveBug has a project to share with you today - it's a perpetual birthday calendar.

I wanted to make some gifts for several wonderful people in an organization that I belong to so I made each officer a  treat.  I took a blank SU perpetual calendar and designed the fronts of each with the person's special things, using favorite colors and collectible ideas.  One gal loves angels so I dipped into my PPbN pattern collections and used an angel from Always By Your Side Angel Bears collection plus a Marci image from La-La Land.  It's great that PPbN things can be used with other images - paper piecings, stamps, and digis.  The possibilities are endless.  Visit PPbN and check out these unique patterns at http://www.paperpiecingsbynikki.com/

Here's the finished project and a pic of what a blank month looks like - you never have to jot down the dates (can be more than birthdays) at the end or start of a year.  It's all kept in one organizational tool.  Cool!

Hope you are having a great, crafting day - remember, no matter how you piece your paper, have fun with it...........cyberhugs...........Mama LoveBug
