I made this video at 1:30am and have been battling a cold..not to mention I had to hold the camera with one hand and flip through with the other...so it's probably not the best video ever but you get to see it all! :)

Paper Hoarders DT Offering - Fall Colors Project With Bling!

Wearable art is so much fun!  Here are my two projects – different uses of bling:

Spider Web Brooch

Reese's Pieces Brooch

These brooches are designed with a Paper Hoarders Team #1 theme of using any two fall colors – orange, brown, red, etc.  The amazing Tanya, our fearless leader, has all the DT projects posted on her blog, located at http://www.scrappinkymomma.blogspot.com/

The premise is to make anything except a layout using these principal colors for the project. Since the main element of this wearable art is paper, I chose a 12 x 12 sheet of Reese’s Pieces Candy Scrapbook Paper (brooch on top right) and a piece of Spider Web Scrapbook Paper (brooch on top left) from our local craft store and two 12 x 12 sheets of Core’dinations cardstock. I have a SU flower punch to make the blooms, some liquid adhesive, Modge Podge, Stickles, and lots of love. Throw in some bling and decorative centers and there you have the fall bling brooches.

Each brooch has a jewelry fastener in the back (a pin) so one could wear these traditionally on a shirt, jacket, dress, or blouse.  They could also be worn on a purse, scarf, book bag/tote, or as a hair adornment.  A brooch could even be put on a chain and worn as a necklace. You could pin one each on cloth napkins for a fancy dinner event. Wearable art would certainly jazz up a gift package or gift bag as well. You’re only limited by your imagination. These two brooches will be posted on the LoveBug Creations FB business page (found on the left of this blog) along with all the others I’ve fashioned.

I also wanted to comment on the uniqueness of my brooches – unless requested by a customer (and I’ve had a few who want them the same), each brooch is a one-of-a-kind project; I like the idea of fashioning something that no one else has.  They truly are little treasures - real conversation starters.

I hope you enjoyed my project and that you'll check out the other designers for Paper Hoarders; maybe you'll become a follower and/or leave LoveBug Creations a comment - we love feedback!  Cyber hugs..........Mama LoveBug

Wedding Guest Book

Hi everyone!
I wanted to share with you all my first wedding guest book! A friend of a friend asked if I might be able to whip something up for her upcoming wedding and I was extremely nervous to say the least. Weddings are a BIG deal and I was so worried the Bride wouldn't like it or the colors wouldn't be the right shade. However she LOVED it! WHEW! ;) You know I've been to several weddings...I know I've signed guestbooks but I've never really paid much attention to them. Guess I will from now on! :)
I couldn't tell you now what papers I used (gasp!) but I'd like to say the background is from "The Ultimate Stack" from DCWV. Bling is SU. Big rose is handmade and embossed with the Divine Swirls folder. The white swirly border is from a cartridge but I'll be darned if I can remember which one...Ha. Are you sensing a theme here? My brain doesn't quite co-operate with me anymore! The names and dates were printed on SU Vellum paper to give it a little more then simple card stock! Let me know what you think! :)

Paper Hoarders DT Offering - Back to School

Mama LoveBug is thrilled to be a teammate on the Paper Hoarders Design Team.  Tanya, our wonderful leader, has more to relate on her blog found at http://www.scrappinkymomma.blogspot.com/ concerning this project theme plus links to other paperhoarder projects.

For this first offering we were asked to create something for a "Back to School" theme.  As some of you know I was a high school teacher for 38 years, so I would have enjoyed a teacher plaque for my desk.  Too bad I wasn't into paper crafting then, but I moved into this hobby more or less after I retired.  I believe we all need a little appreciation and inspiration from time to time so this is why a memento like the framed teacher card would provide a "boost" to any teacher's desk or wall.

Here's my project - Back to School (with a ruler)............

Recipe for this project
*Loralie Designs Art Stamp and several additional apples and pencils colored with watercolor pencils and glitter pens......then some fussy cutting
*Embossed green cardstock as first layer
*Apple patterned paper cut out with my Big Kick using SU Top Note die for second layer
*Apple patterned paper punched out with Notebook Punch and additional embellishments of red gems and two different colors of green bows for left side second layer
*Two 2 1/2" circles punched and offset using red fabric brad, red and white twine, and sentiment "An Apple for the Teacher" by Pink by Design for second top layer
*SU Dimensionals, red double-sided tape, and regular adhesive
*Frame from WalMart
*Lots of love

One could simply give this as a card instead of a plaque - the choice is yours.  Hope you enjoyed my project and hope this has encouraged you to add a deserving teacher into your crafting life!  Cyber hugs.......Mama LoveBug

Happy Birthday Miss Darby!

Today was the kiddos preschool teacher's birthday and the kids wanted me to make her a card. To be honest I haven't made a card in a while so it took a bit to get into the swing of things! However I think this card turned out pretty cute! I used the Imagine on pretty much everything with the Yummy Cartridge. The cupcake sprinkles are glimmer brads from Stampin' UP! and I used my crimper to make the cupcake wrappers! Both cupcakes are on action wobbles! Today was my daughters day for school so she got to take the card and tell her Happy Birthday! It was so cute!!! So here it is! Enjoy! :)
