When our crafty friend Zeni invited me to participate in her Calendar Blog Hop, I was very honored to design something with the theme of “calendar”. I wanted to create a piece of wearable art (aka brooch) that would coordinate with a calendar. At first I thought about making a brooch from an old calendar, which would have worked except I didn’t have any interesting old calendars that I wanted to use. So I searched the Internet and found a very intricate and ancient calendar used by the Mayan culture. The ancient Mayas invented a calendar of remarkable accuracy and complexity; it's one of the oldest! Think about how vital your calendar is to keep you organized and engaged in each day’s events. What would we do without a calendar in terms of knowing when major life events will occur? There is a plethora of information on this culture and its calendar, which you can find at:
So with that in mind I took a picture of the calendar, designed some paper from it, and created a Mayan calendar brooch, which I would say is unique on several levels.

This wearable art could be worn as a brooch, pinned to a scarf or purse, or threaded on a chain for a stunning pendant!
And what's a blog hop without some sweet, sweet, candy??? Here's what I have to offer - a cute stamp, a pack of flower embellies, and some darling Stampin' Up fabric. Think of the projects you could make with these!!
1. Become a follower of our blog; if you're already one - tell me!
2. Leave a comment, answer the question - "what's your favorite month and why", and a way to get ahold of you.
3. We love all our fans but sad to say our blog candy must stay in the USA.
On Monday, November 28, a winner will be drawn by Kim (if she's not in the hospital yet.....LOL) and we'll post info.
Thanks for hopping by, and make sure you check out the next blog hop spot with Gloria - http://www.omascrafts.blogspot.com
Cyber hugs to all........Mama LoveBug
