Surprise to You Nikki of PPbN - Happy Birthday!!

Today LoveBug Creations (Kimi and Pam) is celebrating the birthday of our Paper Piecings by Nikki fearless leader, owner, and designer of PPbN.  We're a mother-daughter blog and we're both on the PPbN DT; we're also the last stop of the hop, but if you just stumbled on us, there's a line-up below to check out our uber-talented DT sisters' spots.

Each of the participating DT gals has created a special card for Nikki including a birthday message on the backside of the card. The cards have all been placed in a book and will be sent to Nikki as a memento of her first Design Team - it's a labor of love, Nikki!!

Please take the time to stop in and visit each of our DT sisters’ blogs and make sure you leave some comments for the DT. We all depend on those comments to help us improve our work.

Here is the full blog spot listing:

This is our project (using Sweet Treat PPbN pattern collection) and some pics of the gold-embossed embellies:

Finally, here's a peek at our message to the birthday girl.

Thank you for helping to celebrate the birthday of a wonderful designer, but more importantly, our friend!
Happy Birthday Nikki!

Remember no matter how you piece your paper, have fun with it……….cyberhugs from LoveBug Creations.

Gimmie S'more!!!

Happy Thursday everyone!!!! I wanted to share with you all a double layout I made using the "Camping Crazy" set from Paper Piecings by Nikki paired with some fabulous DCWV papers! I used "The Ulitimate" Stack, "Blossoms & Butterflies" Stack, "Textures & Finishes" Stack as well as a few of their glitter papers! I wanted to show you that you can make Nikki's Patterns with different papers without using a cameo! I do NOT have one so I had to hand cut everything...Trace the patterns on DCWV paper....and then cut it all out again! Time consuming yes...But it can be done and I think the effect is well worth it! So without further ado here is my layout!!!

Hope you enjoy this LO and maybe it will inspire you to create something fun & cute as well! And if fun and cute is what you are looking for make sure to check out PPbN's patterns!!!
Until next time...

Bug Hugs,
Kimi

Paper Piecings by Nikki DT Offering - Perpetual B-Day Calendar

Good Monday, Crafties.  Mama LoveBug has a project to share with you today - it's a perpetual birthday calendar.

I wanted to make some gifts for several wonderful people in an organization that I belong to so I made each officer a  treat.  I took a blank SU perpetual calendar and designed the fronts of each with the person's special things, using favorite colors and collectible ideas.  One gal loves angels so I dipped into my PPbN pattern collections and used an angel from Always By Your Side Angel Bears collection plus a Marci image from La-La Land.  It's great that PPbN things can be used with other images - paper piecings, stamps, and digis.  The possibilities are endless.  Visit PPbN and check out these unique patterns at http://www.paperpiecingsbynikki.com/

Here's the finished project and a pic of what a blank month looks like - you never have to jot down the dates (can be more than birthdays) at the end or start of a year.  It's all kept in one organizational tool.  Cool!

Hope you are having a great, crafting day - remember, no matter how you piece your paper, have fun with it...........cyberhugs...........Mama LoveBug

Jessi, our hop hostess, has some amazing blog candy for you hoppers so grab a cup of coffee or tea or whatever and settle back as you visit each blog station.  Remember to leave some love at each spot in order to be in the running for blog candy – more details on this can be found on Jessi’s site.
Jessi- http://mylifeinartscrafts.blogspot.com/

Mama LoveBug has two projects to share today – one is a graduation pocket card using, of course, pink as the main color.  The paper doll is a Sizzix die cut and Sizzix face stamp as are the accessories – the cap, gown, and diploma.  The sentiments are from Pink By Design - "The tassel is worth the hassle"(on insert) and "hats off" which were adhered to two butterflies (SU punch) plus a longer sentiment using pink chintz paper (both on base of card).  For added definition I used pink stickles and pink pearls to add PINK MAGIC.............

My second project is a birthday card for one of my daughters – the image is from La-La Land, which I colored with pencils, markers, and gel pens.  The sentiment was again from Pink By Design. I started out with some very sweet SU double-sided paper to fashion the pocket card.

The next two pictures are the pocket card base and insert of the Birthday Blessings - the sentiment on the bow has reference to "calling" which goes splendidly with the La-La Land Marci image. For the base I also made a patchwork pink bow using a Sizzix die and several squares of pink SU paper.

And here's the finished pocket card.

Hope you’re having a great pink day and thanks for hopping by.  Leave me a comment and become a new follower if you've a mind............Remember, no matter how you piece your paper, have fun with it..........cyberhugs...........Mama LoveBug.

Paper Piecing by Nikki DT Offering - Did You Digi?

Good Monday to Crafties!  Did you know that Paper Piecing by Nikki has digi stamps?  Yup - there are several collections that allow your coloring passion to spread wings and fly!!

For today I am sharing the beach bum girlie bear in the bikini to show off several bookmarks I made with an appropriate sentiment - Born To Be Wild.  I colored each bear with watercolor pencils, gen pens, and stickles and fussy cut each one.  Then I constructed a bookmark for each "babe" with some Graphic 45 paper and regular cardstock for a simple frame for each beach bear.  I made a tag for each with the sentiment and here's the girls:

You can find the PPbN digis at http://www.paperpiecingsbynikki.com/ so hop over and check out these and the other super collections.  Remember, no matter how you piece your paper, have fun with it..........cyberhugs................Mama LoveBug!  AND stay tuned tomorrow for a DT hop of amazing talent from PPbN's Team B using the camping collection.

Good Monday to PPbN Fans - Baby Announcement

If you've found your way here to see the Paper Hoarders DT Father's Day projects - please scroll down.

Today is Mama LoveBug's DT posting day for Paper Piecings by Nikki.  She has a lovely collection called Princess Party.  With that in mind I made a pocketcard new baby announcement alert.  I had a set of stamps with baby things like a carriage and diaper pins so I used those as embellies for a fun way to announce a new arrival.  I thought the princess with her little tiger would fit nicely in the baby carriage and.......it did.  Some pretty paper and a stamped sentiment completed my offering today.  Hope you like it.

Father's Day Offering for Paper Hoarders DT

It'll be Father's Day at the end of the week and as a Paper Hoarders DT Offering the LoveBugs are sharing projects for that occasion. To see all the projects please start with Tanya's Blog by click it!

Mama LoveBug made a pocket card with her husband in mind - he is a Navy Veteran of the Vietnam Conflict so here's the card for him - In The Navy:

I made a paper doll Navy guy and took some Stampin UP materials - Father's Day tie set and sentiments - Thinking of You and Happy Father's Day and used silver and gold embossing powders. I cut out the top sentiment for the Navy hat and the bottom ties for the base which I adhered to several scalloped mats.  The paper was also SU.  Of course, what's a card without Stickles for the tie, life preserver, and the Navy guy's eyes!!

Awwww....Mama's project for my (Kimi) dad is too darn cute, huh? I also went the Father's Day route and made this card for my hubby from my kiddos! I used about 7 patterns from PPbN to make this card! You ought to check her site out as she has adorable patterns AND is having a HUGE SUMMER SALE! :) When I saw her new "I LOVE DADDY" sets I knew I had to use them for my card!!! I also used pattern paper from DCWV (Sweet Treats Stack) Buttons from SU! sentiment stamped using KinderStampo's "Say it in Type" set, PK faces and twine from my stash! Everything else is all PPbN! Hope you enjoy this card as much as I do! :)
Please make sure to check out Tanya's Blog and visit the other PH DT member blogs as well! We've all put in a lot work on these projects and want to know you are seeing them!
Bug Hugs,
Kimi

Mama LoveBug does NOT have a machine to cut SVG so I fussy cut by hand. I'm Not Horsin' Around - I Love Ewe was my theme, using the Horsin Around PPbN collection to mix in with The Easter Lamb. Here's what I started with:

These are the piecings that I used - see the lamb chopped up a bit
These are the gold embossed western images from Pink By Design and some buttons I utilized for embellies.
Next I constructed my pocketcard with some cardstock from a farm collection.
I made my own paper using the PPbN championship horse - I took a side view photo of this.
Here's my completed card with a computer-generated sentiment - I'm Not Horsin' Around - I Love Ewe with the Ewe gold-embossed.

This is a picture of the base of the card where I used the horseshoe and a button with twine.

Monday PPbN DT Offering - Solo Cup Sweeties

Hello to Crafties!  Today I'm sharing a pocket card I made using PPbN's collection, Let's Have A Party, of two western bears and a Solo Cup.  I'm definitely NOT a fan of country and western music so the significance of this Solo-cup craze is lost on me.......LOL, but I did like the characters so I designed a birthday card using the bears.  I also made paper with the Solo Cup as background.

PPbN's patterns and stamps are so unique - do some comparison shopping and I'm sure you'll agree - you get more bang for your buck located at http://www.paperpiecingsbynikki.com/
