Down the Chimney we go!!

The theme for this event is anything St Nick, so with that in mind I designed a card for Christmas using one of my favorite styles - the criss-cross card.  This style can be created in the horizontal or vertical - mine is vertical.  This forms a pocket for an insert which I really like so I can write my own message on the back of the insert.

 Recipe
*2 different Christmas papers - one patterned and one plain
*Image from Trina Clark's store - fussy cut and accented with gel pens
*Twine for the top and along the belly band
*Sentiment and stamped tree from my stamp stash
*Jaded Blossom tag die
*LoveBug Creations Christmas Grunge collection of Rumple Ribbon

If you're still reading, here for added mirth is my Merry Christmas Moose - she's soooooo cute and I really enjoyed fussy cutting her and adding an LBC Rumple Ribbon bow and a festive Cameo-cut flower!!

Now I'll send you on to Nadja to see what she made.............cyberJolly Old St Nick..........Mama LoveBug

Did you sleigh ride over from guest designer Aisha? If so you’re on the right path, but if you stumbled upon this hop and want to begin with our hostess, skate over to Lisa.

This hop will take place November 25-December 6 and the new postings each day will be up by 8 AM EST. The hop will be full of wonderful ideas and inspiration to get you well on your way to create all of those beautiful Christmas projects. There will be a new project posted each day by all the wonderful amazing ladies in this hop. Also each day we will have a guest designer for you to visit. Lisa, our hostess, will be giving away some wonderful blog candy each day of the hop from the amazing sponsors that we have. Lisa will be posting all the winners from this hop on December 10. Every one has a chance to win including the ladies participating in the hop and even the guest designers and the sponsors. We want to thank each of the sponsors for their generosity. It has been greatly appreciated.

Also please leave a love note with each hop crafter and become a fan if you’re not already.

Hi, Crafties, Mama LoveBug here - last year I created a 12 Days of Christmas Count Down and I'm doing the same this year too.  The difference is I have a Cameo, so many of my projects will be cut with this awesome machine, but all will feature images from Digi My World's 12 Days of Christmas.  These are not huge projects, but when you collect them all together at the end, they can be used as table decor for decorating a holiday gathering or office party.  By the end of our 12 days I'm betting you'll know this song by heart!!

"On the second day of Christmas my true love gave to me two turtle doves
and a partridge in a pear tree."

Christmas in July Blog Hop

Welcome to “Christmas In July” Blog Hop! So glad you can join us!

If you are coming from SARAH, then you are in the right spot. If you just happened to stumble upon my site or your reading this via e-mail, please start at MIRANDA'S BLOG so you don’t miss anyone’s amazing projects!

Have you started on your Christmas Cards and/or your Christmas Decor yet?  Well we will be showcasing some Christmas projects to help you get in the mood! In addition to seeing some awesome projects, there is some blog candy available too!  Miranda will be giving away a Michael's or JoAnn's gift card.  Winner's choice!  To be eligible to win the blog candy, you must leave a comment on each stop in the hop telling us what is your favorite summer time activity!  Be sure to leave a comment on each stop because the winner can be chosen from any of the participants blogs!

Have you ever bought crafting supplies with the greatest intentions of actually using them?  Well, I have a mountain of stuff that’s just waiting for me to crack open the packing and dive right in.

With that confession, I decided to design a Christmas card with some things I've never used and with non-traditional colors as well as traditional elements.

I cut and embossed two different blue cardstock pieces; next I used the beveled window pane and snowflakes to create a snowman stamped and colored image peeking out of the card.  This was my first attempt with this idea:

*SU Snow Much Fun Stamp - stamped and colored w/SU markers
*SU beveled window pane and snowflakes
*SU 1 ¾ “ punch
*SU cardstock – 2 shades of blue
*SU finial press embossing folder
*LBC Fun Footz - Polka Dot Parade  HERE
*LBC Rumple Ribbon – Simply Red
*LBC Mama’s Mesh – Ocean Blue
*Glitter gems – red, white, blue
*Banner punch and SU sentiment – Holiday Wishes Peace, Joy, Love
*Inside sentiment – hope your Christmas is snow much fun

Here is the entire line up, should you get lost along the way:

Remember, no matter how you piece your paper and rumple your ribbon, have fun with it.................cyberhugs.........Mama LoveBug

Paper Piecings By Nikki DT Offering - Kissy Bears

Good Crafting to You.  Today I'm sharing a darling pattern from Paper Piecings by Nikki - it the Kissy Bears and oh they are cute!  PPbN is so unique and creative - a crafter can get lost in all the patterns at Nikki's online store. This pattern is called Christmas Mistletoe Bears Cutting File

I used Stampin Up cardstock (Gumball Green) and Kraft paper to make the mats and Whisper White SU for the stamping part plus a SU stamp collection of Christmas ornaments for the triple-stamp card. The PPbN pattern was fussy cut - that's the boy bear, the girl bear, and the mistletoe.  I gel-penned the images for highlight and sparkle plus I added a bit of Stickling here and there.

Finally I added a bow made with the LoveBug Creations Rumple Ribbon, which you can find at our online store, open 24-7 for Christmas Present Rumple Ribbon at our LoveBug Creations Rumple Ribbon Store

Hope you liked my card and have been inspired to try one of your own.
Remember, no matter how you piece your paper and rumple your ribbon, have fun with it..........cyberhugs........Mama LoveBug.

Paper Piecings By Nikki DT Offering - It's Monday- Holiday Card

As we come closer to Christmas, Mama LoveBug wanted to share with LoveBug Creations fans some projects for the holiday in a “matched set” – each day for the next four days I’ll be posting a component of four items I’ve made, three of which utilized a holiday collection piece from the Baking Memories “gingerbread set” by Paper Piecings By Nikki located at http://www.paperpiecingsbynikki.com/

Baking Memories has three adorable gingerbread scenes from which you can have a lot of fun and creative time using them in many ways.  For today’s project I’ve created a card using the gingy and snowman characters – yummy!!  The cardstock is SU in a delightful red pattern for the base, an embossed red paper for layer two, the paper pattern run through my Big Kick using a Spellbinder die, some bling, a circle cut sentiment offset with the red patterned paper from the base layer, and lots of love.  Here’s the card:

Check out Nikki’s store for more holiday treats to add to your arsenal of crafting tools.

I've also entered this card in Nikki's blog challenge at http://paperpiecingsbynikki.blogspot.com/
Maybe you'd like some very sweet blog candy Nikki is offering - read all the requirements and have lots of fun!

Remember no matter how you piece your paper, have fun with it………cyber hugs from Mama LoveBug……….
