Kimberly's Spring Fling Blogaversary Hop

Welcome to Kimberly’s Spring Fling Blogaversary Hop.
LoveBug Creations (Pam aka Mama LoveBug) is pleased to be a part of this event today.  Congrats to Kimberly on being a blogger for a whole year! Kimberly has blog candy with specific requirements on her own site, so if you jumped into the hop without viewing her blog, you might want to zip back to see her info. Her sponsors for the hop are:

Creative Kut ~ $10 gift Certificate, Melissa Deuss KaDoddle Bug ~ $20 Gift Certificate, Mickie Burks Osman ~ a paper pack and some stamping goodies, Lucy Kelleher ~ Close To My Heart ~ December Stamp of the Month, Nikki Schiltz Calmes ~ Paper Piecings by Nikki ~ $25 credit to Paper Piecings by Nikki, and Scraptastical Kreations ~ $20 Gift Certificate

This hop started out as a one day affair and has now blossomed to a two day event and just like flowers popping up in the garden take on a uniqueness, so do our hop spots, each in her own way a treasure in Kimberly's Spring Fling.

The blog lineup is as follows:
5. Audrey Dickinson (Scrappie EMT) ~ http://scrappyemt.blogspot.com
9. Pamela Pattison Lash - http://lovebugcreations3.blogspot.com/  HERE
10. Tricia Colon ~ http://mycrazybubble.blogspot.com/ NEXT
11. Michele Eickholt ~ http://chelescrafts.blogspot.com/
18. Leslie Dawn Bigam-Krochta - http://www.lesliekcreations.blogspot.com/
For my first project I designed a pocket card with florals and spring colors to go with Kimberly's theme and felt a crafter groove going on to team two elements - sentiment stamps by Pink By Designs and an art stamp by Loralie Art Stamps Designs called "Hattie".

My granddaughter, Savannah, and I made up a song - "I'm crimping, I'm cutting" which fits this card - I made a pocket card with Heidi Grace double-sided designer paper and after forming the pocket I crimped a strip to go on the outside of the pocket lip.  It almost looks like patterned ribbon and stamped the sentiment on patterned paper, punched it out, and adhered it a little off-center below the crimped strip.

"A good friend shops with you for scrap supplies...a true friend helps you hide them." So true, so true!

Next came the insert using a new technique to me - double stamping.  I stamped the Hattie image on SU whisper white card stock, then stamped her again on the patterned paper.  After using my watercolor pencils and markers on the white image, I fussy cut her patterned paper hat, dress, and purse and attached these pieces to the white image.  I finished this off by using a corner chomper.  This was my first time trying this technique with these art stamps and I liked the results.

Here's a close-up where you can see the more detailed hair coloring and the use of stickles. - "When in doubt add glitter!"

And here is the finished pocket card for the hop.

For my second project I took a delightful paper pack from K and Company:

From this bountiful set, I selected several gorgeous papers and created my signature wearable art - brooches (or paper flowers).  I use a punch, adhesives, and decorative centers in my designs.  When they're dry, I affix a jeweler's backing or pin to the back of the brooch, so one can actually wear these or put them on purses, scarves, lamp shades, etc.   You can even wear them in your hair - endless possibilities! Here's the garden of brooches from this pack:

Thanks for stopping by my garden.....If you've a moment, become a fan of LBC and leave me a comment - as you know, anyone who prepares a project, writes a posting, and takes care of the little details of hopping, it's nice to get a mention.............cyberhugs from Mama LoveBug as you hop over to Tricia's blog garden at

Sweet Baby Feet!!!

Hi everyone! I was looking at my photos on my computer and came across a project I hadn't shared with you guys yet! After the birth of my new baby girl I had a lot of thank you cards to make! And of course being a girl after her mama's heart my sweet baby girl wanted to help...or she didn't have a choice...either way...we made some really cute cards! Since I had so many I did one design and made a bunch...and what could be cuter then brand new baby feet? So I inked her up and went to town stamping her feet on some white cardstock! Then I cleaned her up and got to work! By the way...she loved it...I can tell she's gonna be my crafty pal one day! ;)
I found some cute baby girl paper (sorry can't remember where) and made some rosettes. Stamped the Thanks! on a circle I punched, inked all the edges, and added some adorable PTI Ribbon to it! I pop dotted the little feet to stand out more too! I love that the cards turned out so cute and were one of a kind! And lets be honest....who doesn't love baby feet?

Hope you enjoyed this card!

You're Incredible! :)

Hi everyone! Well as promised here is my 3rd new project! I made this card using some pattern paper I had in my stash, some PTI ribbon, pearls, and a border punch that I think was a fiskars one...
The adorable teddy bear is from Paper Piecings by Nikki! He is part of the "Time to Scrap" set! All her piecings are so cute! You really should check her out!
Now the stamp is used is from the Animated Greetings Set from Pink By Design! Sarah has so many great stamps to choose from! Whether you want a sentiment, background, or image stamp....my bet is you'll find what you're looking for there!

Well I hope you enjoyed my latest project and I can't wait to show you some more!
Until then...

Love Tags!!

Hi everyone! Kimi...again! I promised another project would be up today and here it is!

I made these tags using the DCWV Playtime Stack! I love this stack because it's all printed on Kraft Cradstock! It's so different than any other stack I have or have seen! So I picked the images I wanted (Frog/Monkey) and cut them out of one sheet so I could pop them up!
Then I used some Divine Twine and the Be Mine Stamp Set from Pink By Design! I add some little heart brads I had and viola....Some cute tags for a mini album I'm working on! :)
Hope you've enjoyed these tags and if you missed my Mario layout scroll down! Also I have another project I will be putting up tomorrow...Look at me on a roll! :)

Mario Layout!

Hello everyone! It's Kimi...and it's been awhile! Since the birth of my youngest daughter in November I haven't crafted at all! I need to get back into my groove so I made a few projects! This is by far my favorite so it's first! Now having 4 children you would think I would be a pro at making layouts. Well not so much! I really need to get a move on their scrapbooks. It just hasn't happened...yet! So Mama Lovebug shared with me these ADORABLE piecings from Paper Piecings by Nikki! She has so many cute products...you really should check her out! 2 of my kids are CRAZY about all things Mario so after seeing these I had to use them!

I paired the cute piecings with the Our Kids Stamp Set from Pink By Design! Sarah's stamp sets are wonderful so if you haven't check her out too!

The blue and green mushrooms are from pictures I found online. I resized them, fussy cut them and pop dotted them up! The pattern paper for the photo mats is something I made with help from the internet. I loved that I could find what I needed to match the layout! I also used stickles, Stampin' Up! punches and a Stampin' Up! Button to mimic the lava those plants spit out! I'm adding quite a few pics so here we go:

I hope you enjoy this layout as much as I do! Come back tomorrow to see my next project! :)

Bug Hugs,
Kimi

Paper Piecings By Nikki DT Offering - A Paper Crafter's Pocket Card

Good Tuesday to You Crafty Ones!
This is Mama LoveBug 's take on a sweet paper crafting collection. Paper Piecings By Nikki has a lovely new collection, Time To Scrap, which works great with a card I made for a fellow paper junkie.  PPBN’s online store is located at http://www.paperpiecingsbynikki.com/

This collection includes a coffee mug loaded with copics and scissors, a patchwork bear, and some larger markers; there's also numbers that could be used to make a clock face.  I made a file of the coffee cup and glue to create unique paper; then I printed off and fussy cut the elements for this pocket card.  I also used glitter pens, stickles, two stamps from Pink by Design, my crimper, and a Prima Flower.

Here's two close-ups of the top insert portion and the bottom base:

Paper Piecings By Nikki DT Offering - Fraternal Twins Pocket Card

Good Monday to You, Our Crafty Ones!  Mama LoveBug from LoveBug Creations had to post a picture of a new card inspired by the birth of fraternal twins of a friend.  Paper Piecings By Nikki has two new darling collections called, Cute As a Bug (Girl) and Cute As a Bug (Boy), which are located at her online store at http://www.paperpiecingsbynikki.com/

Buy both sets and you’re covered for any blessed event and so many extras in the collection – a caterpillar, a butterfly, and some very design-engaging bugs to team up with the super sweet baby bears – I crack up every time with those diaper pins!

Here's two close-ups of the different sections of this pocket - the top slide out insert and the bottom base:

I printed out and fussy cut the images, used glitter pens and accent stickles for dimension, and created a pocket card with some accent buttons from SU for the “event”.  I even took out my crimper for some finer details on the card.

Thanks for stopping by and remember, no matter how you piece your paper, have fun with it………….cyberhugs………….Mama LoveBug.

Mama LoveBug at LoveBug Creations is pleased to be a part of this “spread the love event”!!
This posting is for a Link Up Love Party for a chance to get to

*know each other
*find new blog inspiration
* share the crafty love out there with a Valentine project

The link party is sponsored by the very talented

I know Valentines traditionally have lots of red, pink, and white colors but this link up stated to pick your favorite Valentine project so I’m going with this: Mama LoveBug designed this card from PPBN's donut paper (sneak peek) and the darling bear and Valentine heart that come with this set Luv U A Latte plus I teamed it up with a lady bear, Practically Perfect In Every Way, from another set.  You can mix and match so easily with PPBN collections.

I enjoyed adding some ribbon, buttons, and, of course, glitter gel and stickles to certain elements for more definition.  And how about those pocket cards – too much fun here for Mama LoveBug!  The message part has those coffee beans that tie in so nicely with the theme of this card.

The collection can be found at Nikki’s store located online at  http://www.paperpiecingsbynikki.com/

Paper Piecings By Nikki DT Offering - Melt My Heart Doorknob Tag

First the kisses, then Elvis, and then the coffee card – and now the M and M bears to round out my week.  Paper Piecings By Nikki has an adorable collection of these candy treats and bears = a winning combination in my book and hopefully yours. This one is called Mmmmm Mmmmm Good! PPBN’s paper patterns are lots of fun to play with and no matter what your style, you can have lots of versatility in how you piece your paper, whether through the cutting machines or fussy cutting (like me).

Here are more pics of the door tag that I made – Melt My Heart.  I used glitter pens and stickles to get the M and M’s to “melt” along with some lovely candy paper, red ribbon, and a coordinating button.

Paper Piecings By Nikki DT Offering - A Choco Pocket Card

“Life is like a box of chocolates” to quote Forrest Gump.  Mama LoveBug loves chocolate in all types – white, milk choco, and the sinfully delicious dark! Mmmmm! So when Paper Piecings By Nikki presented a choco couple called Chocolate Smoochies Freebie at her online store at http://www.paperpiecingsbynikki.com/, I knew I had to make a pocket card with the Kisses.

The dandy candy duo is resting on a chocolate bar inside the decadent chocolate paper.  Here’s the close-up of Mr. and Mrs. Kisses.

I fussy cut the delightful pattern and created the pocket from a cardstock stack called Sweet Treats.  I added a sentiment – I Tink You’re Sweet and another from Pink Cricut – Perfect Pair.  Time to stickle, add a paper flower (which is also stickled), and lots of love for my sweetie!

PPBN has a great selection of paper piecings, which are very reasonably priced and a ton of fun to work with.  Nikki has a Paper Pattern Club you should check out as well.

Paper Piecings By Nikki DT Offering and Winner, Winner, Come To Dinner

Bookmark It, Michael – I have always enjoyed the MJ music and when Paper Piecings By Nikki came out with a MJ bear, I knew it had to join my crafty images.  Nikki’s store is found at http://www.paperpiecingsbynikki.com/

This hip moonwalker is found under the Pattern Club Exclusives.

I made a bookmark using sturdy Kraft cardstock and covered it with some music paper.  Then I made a border for the top with a darker music paper, fussy cut the MJ Bear, added stickles, and punched out a title with my SU fancy label punch.  I used my corner chomper to get rid of the boxy look and here is Michael Jackson Bear.

Sorry I haven’t been able to post the winner of the Ring Out the New Year Blog Hop – my daughter Kim usually does this, but her computer is in for repair……….so the winner is Scrappy Zeni………watch the mail for your treat.

Paper Piecings By Nikki DT Offering - My Love Is Like A Cabbage Valentine

It’s Monday and that means it’s time for a card using a Paper Piecings By Nikki collection.  This Valentine includes love duo bears from the set called Always Be My Little Lady.  This comes with two sweetheart bears and an assortment of hearts.  Nikki’s store is located at http://www.paperpiecingsbynikki.com/

Mama LoveBug began her craftiness after teaching by fashioning paper dolls (for sale on the LoveBug website), so I’m going back to my first joy for this card – paper dolls!  This little gal is made using a Sizzix die, clothes cut out from the Paper Doll Cricut cart, stickles, ribbons, and lots of love.  Add in several layers of cardstock, the sweetheart bears, a little envelope from another Sizzix die, a third Sizzix cut  - a frame embossed in grey dotted Swiss, more stickles, a corner chomper, and a white jell pen for accent.  Did I mention Stickles………LOL!

I searched for just the right sentiment and found this little poem:

My love is like a cabbage
Divided into two.
The leaves I give to others,
The heart I give to you!

Thanks for stopping by and remember, no matter how you piece your paper, have fun with it…………..cyberhugs………..Mama LoveBug
