Rumble in the Jungle - Pink Style

Wearable art brooches are rumbling in the jungle, pink style that is.......Mama LoveBug has been going zebra in a big way with these two pink zebra brooches and several more colors to choose as well.  I also designed a paper brooch for the Junior Red Hats out there.  These three will soon be joining the other brooches for sale on our Facebook Page so check them out as well.

Before I forget - I had two questions recently that I want to answer.
#1 - How do you wear these?  They each come with a pin and clasp on the back so you can wear them on a coat, shirt, etc.
#2 - I love them, but I don't wear pins - what can I do?  Since they have the pin and clasp, you can pin them to your purse, backpack, notepad, etc.

Thanks for stopping by!

For our Troops!!!!!

LoveBug Creations (Kimi and Mama LoveBug) want to thank our troops, stationed here and abroad, for all their hard work and dedication during these troubling times. We are proud to be able to demonstrate our hope for the future of our country and the world. To that end we’ve designed two cards to share the pride we have in our military! We also want to thank our crafting pal, Tanya, for coming up with this “event” and calling on our crafting world to give a “shout out” to the troops!

First up is Mama's Amazing Card!! Click on it to see a larger photo! :)

Very nice job, Mama! :)

Now for Kimi's card....but first there are a few things you need to know. This card was inspired by "Courtesy of the Red, White & Blue" by Toby Keith! There is a line in the song that says "We'll put a boot in your *BUTT* it's the American Way" That was the line that I wanted this card to portray. Around the frame was supposed to be the title of the song...However I discovered last night that my printer is busted! :( So I couldn't do what I'd originally wanted...But it needed a little something. So while it isn't as good as I pictured it in my head it's not bad....Well...the picture is...It was late....I was tired...and I'm no photographer!! LOL

In all seriousness though we want to give a BIG TIME thanks to all of our troops! We wouldn't be able to do all that we do if it wasn't for you all protecting us & keeping us free! Keep up the AWESOME work and God Bless!

Happily Ever After Blog Hop - Day 4!

Welcome back for the 4th and final day of the "Happily Ever After" Blog Hop! We hope you've found a lot of inspiration while hopping over the last few days! If you've been with us the last few days you will have seen Mama's Lovebug's Beautiful Brooch, Kimi's Configuration (Shadow) box and a gorgeous card by Mama Lovebug! For the final day I (Kimi) have made a card. This one was different for me as it is my first time making a card without using any of my machines (Expression, Gypsy, or Imagine) It was actually a lot tougher than I thought it would be! I rely on them way too much :) I wanted this card to have a wedding bouquet on it so I used some fabric flowers, green floral sticks, pearls, smooch spray, and tulle to *hopefully* achieve this look! The stamp is from KinderStampo's Vintage Love set! Hope you enjoy it! :)

In order to be eligible for the grand prizes you must leave a comment on every blog in the hop and become followers to all the wonderful sponsors websites also.

Be sure to come back every day between May 1-May 4 because all blogs in this hop will post a new project each day. Lisa from Honeybearz Designs will be picking the grand prizewinners from all the comments left throughout the 4 days.

Here is a list of the complete lineup for this hop:
Kimi & Pamela: http://lovebugcreations3.blogspot.com/ - YOU ARE HERE
Scraps To Treasures: http://www.scraps2treasure.blogspot.com/  -YOUR NEXT STOP

Hopefully you all saw Kim's amazing Tim Holtz Configuration Box yesterday - if not, scroll down the page to Day 2.  If you scroll down even further, you'll see my wedding brooch from Day 1.  It's not too late to comment on either project - we heart comments!

Since Mama and Papa LoveBug will be celebrating our 40th wedding anniversary on July 31, I (Mama LoveBug) wanted to see what the 40th anniversary symbol is so I googled and found out the traditional “color” is the ruby, which is lovely, but I prefer something more in the pink palette. I wonder if Papa Lovebug will take the hint – pink for Mama LB??

Wedding symbols demonstrate a need for us to connect with tradition but also to put our own “spin” on things. My project shows several traditional elements found in the wedding – the bridal gown, the groom’s tuxedo, the exchanging of rings, and the new names – Mr and Mrs. I found a stamp set that had all of these elements plus several more that I didn’t use.

Here is my card, which could be used for either a wedding or anniversary announcement or thank you.

Recipe for Project
*Pink Distressed Paper from Tim Holtz
* Whisper White Cardstock from SU – embossed and stickled
*Black striped ribbon
*Various punched shapes
*Stamp set with wedding symbols and sentiments
*Hot Pink Stickles and Frosted Lace Stickles (I heart stickles)

Before you leave - what’s a blog hop without blog candy? Well we’ve got some terrific chances for giveaways along the line. LoveBug Creations is offering a Wedding treat in the form of a Bride and Groom Sticker Set.  Think of all the possible crafty things you could do with this pair!

Happily Ever After Blog Hop - Day 2!

Welcome back for Day 2 of the Happily Ever After Blog Hop!
We hope you got to hop yesterday but if you missed our post for Day 1 click here! This hop is going on from May 1 - May 4 with different projects from all the talented crafters each day!!! If you stumbled on here and would like to start at the beginning with Lisa go here! Lisa has gotten a LOT of sponsors for this hop and you don't want to miss your chance at some awesome candy!!! Make sure you comment on each blog and follow the sponsors blogs to get entered! Each day you comment you earn an extra chance!

I hope you guys all saw Mama Lovebug's gorgeous wedding day brooch! Wasn't that amazing? Fantastic job, Mama! Lovebug Creations sells these brooches so if you are interested in purchasing any or would like a custom one made please send us an email to lovebugcreations3 at gmail dot com!

For my first project I did something I've never done before. I was given a Tim Holtz Configuration Box from my sister. I have to say I was a little intimidated at first but soon fell in love! There are so many different things you can do with these! Paint it, ink it, paper it...configure it a gazillion (is that a word?) ways. If you haven't tried these you really should! On to the picture and then I'll explain a little about what I've done!

I decided for this configuration to paint all of the boxes with a black acrylic paint and covered it all with DCWV Black Currant Stack! I couldn't get a great picture but the first row going down has a heart I stamped attached to a Stampin' Up! beveled windowpane! Next box down has some bling and a charm that says "Remember This". Next box has a hanging  trinket key from Stampin' Up!  The big spot with the "you and me" chipboard piece is actually 2 smaller boxes flipped upside down! Next box down has some bridal stickers in it and beside it is a box with 2 rosesetts from SU! Also I stamped "Always" on a piece of paper and rolled it up in an empty embossing powder container I had! Back to the top - I loved the flower on the paper and didn't want to cover it so I put a raised butterfly in there! Final box has a Prima flower in it! The "LOVE" going down the box are DCWV chipboard letters! The top has an angled chipboard piece with the name of the blog hop and on the side is another bridal sticker!!
I hope you enjoy my project as much as I did making it! And you really should give this a try if you haven't!! :)

Before you go - Lovebug Creations is giving away some "candy" of our own! See the first day post to find out what it was! Here's what you need to do to win our candy!

Happily Ever After Blog Hop – Day 1

Welcome to the Happily Ever After Blog Hop. This blog hop runs from May 1 – May 4.

LoveBug Creations is very proud to request your presence and to be a part of this four day event.

If you are coming from April:http://www.curlsngrins.blogspot.com/ you’re on the right track.
If you just joined us, you can go back to the beginning HERE
Lisa: http://honeybearzdesigns2011.blogspot.com/ and hop along with us.

We’ve had so much fun creating this hop, and we have a wonderful line up with some oh-so-talented creators. You will see some lovely projects having to do with a wedding or anniversary theme and have a chance to win some blog candy along the way, including some grand prizes, which are being sponsored by Lisa from Honeybearz Designs. In order to be eligible for the grand prizes you must leave a comment on every blog in the hop and become followers to all the wonderful sponsors websites also.

Mama LoveBug won the toss and will be presenting projects on Day 1 and Day 3; Kimi obviously will be creating on Days 2 and 4 (she’s the one with the real talent so don’t miss out).  I’ll be celebrating 40 years of “wedded bliss” on July 31 and as a “marriage veteran” I’d like to share a few words of wisdom on the subject in the form of a poem that has so many lofty ideas, but I’d be lying if I said I followed each and every one to the hilt.

What Is Marriage?
A good marriage must be created.
In the marriage the little things are the big things.
It is never being too old to hold hands.
It is remembering to say 'I love you' at least once a day.
It is never going to sleep angry.
It is having a mutual sense of values and common objectives.
It is standing together and facing the world.
It is forming a circle of love that gathers in the whole family.
It is speaking words of appreciation and demonstrating gratitude in thoughtful ways.
It is having the capacity to forgive and forget.
It is giving each other an atmosphere in which each can grow.
It is a common search for the good and the beautiful.
It is not only marrying the right person.
It is being the right partner.
Wilfred A. Peterson

Well, I said it had food for thought – I think I’ll “encourage” Papa LoveBug to memorize a few choice-selected lines and put them into practice.  I bet if you’re married, you could pick out a few lines that need some fine-tuning too!

Next up is my project for Day 1 – it’s wearable art.  If you are planning to attend a wedding in the near future, how about a fancy brooch to complete your ensemble? Here are pictures of Mama LoveBug’s stylish wedding brooch made out of – yup, you guessed it – paper!

Before you leave - what’s a blog hop without blog candy? Well we’ve got some terrific chances for giveaways along the line. LoveBug Creations is offering a Wedding treat in the form of a Bride and Groom Sticker Set.  Think of all the possible crafty things you could do with this pair!

The first picture is the paper I chose – double-sided wedding paper and Core’dinations pink paper.  The second photo is the almost finished project w/o bling.  I could have left it that way but I heart Stickles so this is a must for my taste, which you can see in photo #3.  LoveBug Creations sells these brooches so if you’re interested, drop us a line at lovebugcreations3 at gmail dot com
