Colour Q "For You" – Challenge #108 and Some Grandchildren Treats!

Here’s my entry in The Colour Q challenge, which is located at http://colourq.blogspot.com/2011/10/colourq-challenge-108.html

For this week the prompt was to design something with the following requirements:
Basic Black, Peach Parfait, Daffodil Delight, So Saffron, and White.

Mama LoveBug whipped out her tool kit of SU colors and used a delightful image from Loralie Designs Art Stamps plus the SU sentiment stamp – For You.  There are lots of wonderful crafters out there who should be recognized by their fellow crafters, so that’s the focus of this project.

As you can see using stamps can be so much fun that I had to make a second one with a few twists.  I used a different embossing folder but kept with the colors of the challenge to create a unique second project.

With Halloween Trick or Treat upon us, I also wanted to share the treat bags I am giving to my six grandchildren (another one is on the way, but she can’t eat candy yet…….LOL).

It’s fun now and again to participate in a challenge and this is a great one as I heart color challenges best.  Thanks for stopping by and cyber hugs………Mama LoveBug!

Halloween Treats

Hi everyone! Kimi here...I signed up to make treats for my son and daughter's preschool classes. 28 in total plus I made 2 different treat boxes for the teachers! They put up with my monsters everyday so I only figured it was right ;) I would love to be able to say that the idea behind these adorable treats was my own but sadly no..I'm not that creative! ;) I had first seen these cuties on my friend Tanya's blog and she had originally seen them here on Sarah's Blog! Mine are a little different then the original...I added the kiddos names and my girl monsters aren't near as cute...because I finished at 3 am and was too tired to do anything else with them...LOL...but I still think they turned out awesome! My kids loved them and really that's all that matters! :)

Not spooky but def. Halloween-y!

Next up are the 2 treats I made for the teachers. They are the same basic box but decorated a little differently. The tutorial for these can be found here on Sarah's blog again! :) Enjoy!

Hope you all have a spook-tacular Halloween! :)

Paper Hoarders DT Offering - Halloween Shape Card

The Paper Hoarders Design Team assignment was to create a Halloween shape card. The amazing Tanya, our fearless leader, has all the DT projects posted on her blog, located at http://www.scrappinkymomma.blogspot.com/

Mama LoveBug has NEVER made a shape card before and so I had to think way outside of the box - like on another planet's box.  I had a digi stamp from GFS which was a cute little boy dressed in a skeleton costume so I used that to make a very large card - say about 8" tall.  Here's the finished project.

Skeleton Boy

In order to achieve this shaped card, I ran off several digi images and did some fussy cutting around the skeleton boy; then I added several layers underneath the front boy.

Front Layer before glitzing.

Middle Layer with stamping and coloring done.

Back Layer with the actual stamps I used.

All three layers side by side before I put them together.

You can see that I used watercolor pencils and glitter pens, some DWV cardstock, and a few stamped images for the inside.  WalMart had a terrific sale on some very cute Halloween images a few months ago so I stocked up on those.  The layers were bound together with 3 glitter brads.  This bad boy is a free-standing card, ready to be taken home and be treasured by a grandson.  Since I have two, I'd better make another one before it's time to rattle those skeleton bones.

Thanks for stopping by.......drop me a comment if you'd like.......and check out LoveBug Creations' other blog postings and our FB page.  Happy Halloween!!!
